Like the title says: it's a "hop on and hop off" bus. It's meant as your means getting around the citty and not your expert tour guide (as some reviewers seems to expect). We were prepared in advance what we wanted to see and visit.....More

Do this more for the opportunity of great views, particularly on the blue route.Commentary not that helpful if you can hear it above the roar of the bus engine. Some roads don't have a good surface so if this makes you queasy don't try it.

Visited Funchal at the start of November 2018. We (four adults, aged circa sixties) have visited plenty other European and further afield cities and are regular users of "sightseeing" buses in order to get our bearings, orient ourselves and become familiar with places of interest...More

Whenever we visit somewhere new we usually enjoy a HOHO bus tour as a way to get our bearings. To be fair the route does take you up and down and around the city and beyond. The commentary is really quite poor. Granted there are...More

I booked the bus to see the area, I waited for the bus a very long time at least 45 mins and I must say I was a little annoyed because I thought the buses were more frequent. There is no air conditioning if it...More

Bus was comfortable and not very busy. Few 'real' impressive sites and very few decent photo opportunities.

Good tour but missed the glass viewing area at the top of the hills which is a must see best to get the yellow tour bus as the red one is a bit boring

We bought our tickets at reception and caught the bus at stop thirteen which is one minute up from the hotel entrance. You pay once and then get to hop on/off over two days. The sense of location you get from the tour helps you...More

We booked the red and green bus route at 17 euros per person for a 48 hour ticket. We did one section on day one and the others section on day two. The drivers were really friendly and sorted a problem with the ticket. You...More

There were none that I found but with multiple trips round and stops you can get your monies worth out of them. Don't let the price put you off.

The blue line operated by the Red Bus company takes you to Monte where you can walk to the toboggan - only a few minutes walk away and it has a stop at the end of the toboggan run. You can always get a local bus or go up on... More

The red bus is about every 20 minutes but if there are cruise ships in they put on extra buses and they can be more frequent. I don't know about the yellow ones as we no longer use them
