We did a lavada walk, half day on the Sunday, it's a nice walk/ views, not difficult but if you do not walk well it's very narrow in places, really enjoyed, would recommend,

I booked this through TUI when in our resort and we had Alvoro who was very knowledgeable and amusing. This was a very easy walk and there were lots of stops to learn about the flowers, plants and birds. It was almost exactly 5km and all on the flat. We stopped halfway at a cafe which was nice for a... More

i took a tour to a levada in this operator, for they were the only one to have levada on Mondays, and we did a small one. Since Madeira is nature in her magnificence, it is always interesting to see it in a peaceful pace.I would rate this agency as good, for they were late at the meeting point and... More

We've been on a Levada walk with these guys. They were very friendly, on time and well prepared to assist everybody. I should've brought something warmer to dress because it was a cold day. Luckily, they had a sweater for me. Our guide, Susanna, was full of life. She offered a lot of information and in a funny, cute way.... More

A great day out with our guide exploring Paradise Valley levada walk. The guide was extremely knowledgeable about flora and fauna and he was very funny too. Madeira Explorers are not the cheapest on the many companies offering tours but they are one of the best.

We have always used this company when walking in Madeira. The guides are all experts on Botany and point out so much that would otherwise have been missed. The walks themselves are usually around the 12 km distance and a reasonable pace is kept. Mainly we are collected around 9.30 and back at the Hotel for around 16.30, so a... More

Excellent guides and drivers, the drivers should be awarded medals, they reverse coaches up hills if needed, roads twist and turn when you are out of city. Our guide Leena and driver Fernando made our last trip so special. Leena sang Abba songs to us between giving information!

Took two half day walks and one full day. Good value as they provide minibus transportation to and from locations ... guides are very informative ... my full day was the 3 peaks including the highest mountain Pico Ruivo which is about 6200ft ... this is a very strenuous walk and should not be underestimated... walking sticks and torches can... Guides were very knowledgeable. Some of the terrain had some steep drops so not for those who don't like that sort of thing! The refreshment stops were good, not the usual pricy places that a lot of tours take you to.
