Great views of the island and great way to get up the hills!!Bought the tickets from the official booth inside, however, I think better deals were available from the tour guides outside (taxi back down was very expensive)

Sensibly priced and not too busy when we used it . Spectacular views over the whole of Funchal and it takes you up to some impressive gardens . Not many places in the world where you can do this sort of thing so give it a try .

Best way to start your day in Funchal! just 10€ one way up! Perfect for fotos! They have combi tickets if you want to enter in the gardens. If you want to go down on the tobbogan just buy one way ticket! will do it again!

We found this ride great, although my partner was a little nervous! Cars slow down to a slow speed for entrée and exit, and whilst the view is increasingly good as you rise, I didn't get the feeling of being that high over the ground?

Great views of the island, nice cafe at the top where you can sit outside and enjoy the scenery. We did the round trip which cost €20 well worth it. Only downside was when you get of at the top they are very pushy for you to buy the photo they take. Well worth a visit

Gives you a better panorama over Funchal, but nothing more. The trip is short and slow, one may get bored on the way. If it would work during the evening/night, so you can see Funchal by night, it would be tons more fun and more special.

A 'must do'. Go when a cruise boat isn't in dock, there will not be much of a queue. Very reasonable €15 return ticket. The views are outstanding.

Ourselves and some friends wanted to visit Monte tropical gardens so took the cable car up. There was quite a queue but each car takes six so it was quick for the queue to go down. The ride was very smooth and you had a lovely view over Funchal great for a photo shoot. Before you leave to go to... More

The cable car is an essential part of any visit to Funchal. Although the top was slightly cloudy the views were still well worth the trip up. One of our party is ambulent disabled with a wheelchair. Because the cable car does not fully stop when you embark / disembark it could be tricky to get on board. The staff... More
