Amazing views over the city and a lovely way to see the island from a bit of a different angle! Definitely do it when you get the chance. We wanted to 'sledge' down on the local wicker sleighs but they don't run on Sundays.

Must do at least once if you are in Madeira. I felt safe and the speed was good. It probably could of gone a little faster but overall it was a fun experience.

A great way too view from a different perspective. I'm not confident with heights so a little hesitant, but was perfectly fine on this. Fantastic views of Funchal, the coastline and port area. The gardens at the top are worth a visit as beautiful, but like everywhere in Madeira they are steep. A nice half a day out.

My first time on a cable car, I was very nervous but it was amazing, on arriving we explored all the different areas the flowers and trees etc, are beautiful the explosion of colours is hard to believe in January, I can imagine that later on in the year it will look spectacular, well worth a visit

€10 single or €15 return. They try to sell you a photo of you in the gondola at the top for €10. Monte is pretty and the views on the way up in the cable car are stunning. The church is beautiful and you can climb to the roof for an excellent vantage point for photos. Tropical gardens are €12.50... More

My wife ad I bought a combined ticket to the Tropical Gardens which whilst it is expensive is more than compensated for by the smooth. comfortable ride as well as offering some outstanding views of Funchal and you can still see the results of last year's fires on the hillside. They take an unexpected picture of you just before the... More

Thoroughly enjoyed the cable car ride from the top of the hill. It lasted about 17 mins with great views. A pity to see burnt out houses on the way down.

We could not miss a return trip with the cable car, while out visit to the Monte Palace Tropical Garden. The ride above the city up to Monte is a miracle, with spectacular views on the city, the beautiful terraces, the dazzling panorama of the Atlantic Ocean will take your breath away. The car system looks really well maintained and... More

This was a great way to see the view of Funchal . Very reasonable priced 30 euro for both of us up and down. You can visit the botanical gardens at the top for another 10 euro each we decided against this and had a coffee locking over the view.
