This could be made into so much more, pay a few euros each and you walk around, no info boards, all the interior shut, but not many attractions in funchal so was ok

Stumble on this fort after walking to the end of the old town. Small charge for entry but well worth for the views. There is a cafe where you can sit & enjoy the view while relaxing with a coffee or a beer.

We spent less than an hour having a wander round. Entry was 3 euros to get in. We appreciate that whilst it holds an historic place in Funchal, there was nothing much to see and there was very little exhibitions to see.

We enjoyed looking around the fort and the views from the bay. Given a good booklet with the history of the fort which was very good.

This fort is next to our hotel. Paid 3 euro each for entry and disappointed as not much to see - better views from our hotel balcony
