We spent Sunday and Monday of this week travelling around the island with Jose, who was more like a friend than a tour guide. On Sunday we traveled around the West of the island and up to the highest points of the mountains during torrential rain however we were in extremely safe hands with Jose. On Monday we traveled around the East side of the island going through plenty of small towns and cities, getting the feel for Maderian life. Jose knew everything about everything from the vegetation around the island to the different types of birds in the sky and no request or answer was too much for him. You can easily jump on any of the yellow or red sightseeing tour buses with a big group of people without a personalized experience or spend the day with Jose or another one of the tour guides and see the sights with ease. Second time on the island of Madeira and second time using Daniel’s taxis after a superlative two weeks of trips using the same firm two years ago.
This time we had Leandro. Car was clean, he was on time, spoke fluent English and was extremely knowledgable about the island.
He was also very helpful; I am a disabled customer and nothing was too much trouble. My small mobility scooter fit perfectly in his boot without folding and he was always careful to get me to accessible entrances.
I would highly recommend this taxi firm: they really are superlative.

My two teen children and I recently used Daniel Madeira Taxi to book a transfer for a levada hike. The hike was not listed on their website but there was no issue with booking this transfer. I booked it the day before and had excellent and prompt communication with the company.
Our driver, Jose, was just wonderful and went above and beyond to ensure we had a positive experience. Jose was perfectly on time to pick us up at our accommodation and walked us to the start of the trail from the road. Along the way he pointed out various plants and explained the levada system. We did our hike and he was waiting at the end of the hike. On our way home, he kindly offered to stop enroute at a fishing village so we could have time to look around. Along the drive, he explained so many things to us about the island and the sights to see and things to do. Jose was so kind and friendly and we had such a wonderful morning with him as our driver.
We used several transfer services during our stay, and Daniel Taxi was the best! Highly recommend this company if visiting Madeira. Thank you!

I lost track how many times we have had tours with Daniel in the past but because he does such a great job to find special places on this beautiful Island of Madeira I love to give him another 5 star review. While on a cruise Daniel picked us and 4 of our friends up in Port right on time and found a great route to Puerto Moniz on the North East side of the Island after making a number of nice stops and talking about the different facets of nature there we had a great lunch where of coarse we invited Daniel to come with us . Puerto Moniz is very special because it is easy to see what volcanic eruptions have done here. On the way back to port , Daniel took a different route along waterfalls through a number of tunnels and over the mountains . Contact Daniel early because he is very popular specially with us cruisers . His wife does all the mailing and she is fast and very efficient . I Highly recommend Daniel Madeira Taxis ! We will be back Daniel !

Excellent service, always on time and easy communication before the trips. We booked 3 levadas and also trip to/from Funchal. We aldo used services of other companies, so had a chance to compare- Daniel’s taxi really are the best in terms of attitude and client orientation.
Daniel himself is an amazing person, always smiling and willing to share hospitality extensive knowledge about Madeira.

Don't hesitate to book with Daniel Taxi if you want the friendliest and most
reliable of hosts!
Safely driven and in comfort, Daniel himself is so enjoyable to spend time with as you
are driven round Madeira, with Daniel sharing his knowledge and explanations both en route and at each of the areas/places you visit.
We had read on-line the reviews about Daniel Taxi and consequently were happy to book in advance our collection from the airport to our hotel in Funchal, as well as a half day "Highlights Tour". Daniel greeted us at the airport - a lovely start to our holiday - and a couple of days later took us on our tour. A fabulous 4-5 hours that
he adjusted to exclude Monte(as we would be going there on the cable car) but including also Nun's Valley, which is definitely a "must see" place!
Thank you Daniel Taxi - we look forward to seeing you next time!

Very reliable service. We used the airport transfer service and did a hike and a tour. The drivers are punctual, reliable and polite. We immediately felt welcome. Eusebia, the control center of Daniels Taxi, ensures smooth operations and fast communication. We will book again on our next vacation.

We have just come back from a week's holiday with friends to the beautiful island of Madeira.
Prior to our visit, I was in contact with Eusebia who organised our pick up/drop off to the airport and to answer our questions promptly.
I also arranged a day's tour of the island which Eusebia very kindly arranged, Cabo Giro, Nun's Valley and Pico Arieiro was on our list but Eusebia added 5 other areas with spectacular views which was a bonus. Our driver for the day was Leandro and he was both knowledgable, friendly, helpful, had many laughs along the way and made our visit all the more memorable.
Daniel picked us up at the airport and gave us many tips to our hotel and Adriano took us back to the airport.
If you go to Madeira, ensure you book Daniel Madeira Taxi's from the airport to the hotel, you won't be disappointed and ensure you have a tour or two planned around the island with them.
All the Team deserve a mention shown above as they make your holiday special.

Simple.. plan ahead and use Daniels Taxi
From the instant we stepped out the cruise ship terminal, there was a smiling face holding our name on a card.
We had a local ( Daniel - The legend ) guide to show us the beautiful island and take us places the cruise ship buses do not go. We were in constant contact by email with Eusebia who answered any questions we had pre trip.
Such a wonderful and beautiful island and no better way to see it than on a private tour with Daniel @ Daniel’s Taxi

Daniel is a wonderful tour guide. We did the Porto Moniz full day tour and he took us to so many interesting places and we had a 2 hour stop for lunch and swim in the natural rock pools. I got lucky and he was available the following day for a half day tour to the Machico area, we did a short levada walk , got to swim and explore the sandy beach at Machico, got to see some really amazing view points and learned some interesting facts about the airport. Spending a day and a half with Daniel was like a history lesson with some amazing stops and some laughs. What a great and interesting man! I would recommend his firm to anyone visiting Madeira.

I would like to do the Vereda do Areeiro hike that I believe connects Pico Ruivo to Pico do Areeiro. I do not require a guide. Is it possibe to be dropped off and then picked up a 4 hours later?

Hi, my son and I just booked to come to Madeira February 2019 for a week. If we only do one tour. which would you suggest? I think I prefer the coast, and would love a not too strenuous Levada walk too!

If you only do one tour I recommend the Northwest coast (Porto Moniz Tour). For an easy Levada, I suggest Maroços near Machico (East side).
