The exterior of this cathedral is rather plain, as is the interior. It is not very richly decorated, but worth the visit.

Not as greatly decorated as Italian and Spanish churches but worth wile to visit. It is located just behind the boulevard.

My wife and I were in Funchal city centre and looked in side the cathedral. It was well worth it. The vaulted ceiling is spectacular

With a very plain facade it is such a surprise once inside. Beautiful to behold even though wood blackened by centuries of candles.

Can't miss this cathedral as it sits in the center of the old town. Good photo op but unfortunately it was closed when we visited --they close it from noon to 3PM.

A most imposing double building on the main road downhill into the Centre of Funchal. Imposing Catholic cathedral. Well worth a visit.

We were walking past the cathedral and were lucky to find it open, apparently it is more closed than open! It was quite plain down the sides, but has a beautiful alter, and side alter of all gold emblems etc!
