I am living in Lisbon and had some friends visiting Lisbon. We had just one afternoon to visit Sintra and the tour with Ricardo was amazing! We saw everything in this short period of time, and enjoyed it so much that we made a longer tour by going back to Lisbon from the coast, for a really reasonable price.

My wife and I arrived Lisbon 5/31/19 very tired at 5:20 AM. We were greeted by a most friendly Ricardo who was taking us to our B & B. His business is called Sintra Limo. He gave us many tips to make our 1 week stay enjoyable. We hired him for a few days to drive us to places he recommended and we were very happy with his tour. He took us to local restaurants that were memorable. He was always punctual and our time with him was as though we were with family. He made himself available by phone and by email at all times. Even when we were not using his services, he answered our calls to make decisions about various attractions. We recommend this limo service with very high marks. Thank you for excellent service!

First off Vera answered the phone was courteous and provided a fare quote for the day. It was short notice and I was worried we would lose some time. In less than an hour Carlos was there in a nice clean Mercedes. We are a family of 4 and we were comfortable. Carlos had cold water for us, he was very knowledgeable about all the sites. He was patient when we wanted to take pictures and even went out of his way to take us to some magical places. For us it was the highlight of our trip in Portugal. I only wish we had met him 3 days earlier. I would of booked him for all 4 days we were there. Never did I see him look at the time, knew great lunch place. NOTHING BUT AMAZING!! I will keep their number and they will be my transportation company everytime I visit.

It’s my second European trip and first time to hire a local guide and transport service. I welcome the idea though as I prefer comfort and convenience knowing that it will not be costly for me as the cost will be shared with my other 4 girl friends traveling with me.
We learned about Ricardo from another friend who travelled in Portugal previously. He was highly recommended.
Ricardo was to tour us around Sintra and other places on our second day in Lisbon. He was prompt, came in time and was dressed very well. He spoke good English and so friendly that you’ll feel at home with him. He was generous in providing information about the places we’re passing by and visiting. He surely knew the places and good restaurants to dine as I enjoyed the food and ambience of the restaurants in Sintra. I love the lechon in the restaurant he recommended on our way to Porto. He brought us to Porto on our fourth day in Portugal.
I’ll not provide a detailed account of our trip as my friend already did.
I just would like to share my experience for those looking for a tour guide and transport service that Ricardo is your guy. He’s like most Filipinos I know. He’ll make you feel at ease and show the best about his place. He’s proud of Sintra, his hometown, rightly so as it’s really a beautiful place and historical as well.
I’ll definitely hire him and his company again should I have a chance to travel in the area again.
Btw, his rate is not at all high considering the quality and efficient kind of service they provide.

We are a group of independent travelers and had my doubts about hiring a driver/local guide, specially since this is already my second visit to Portugal. I eventually agreed to hiring one, given that he came highly recommended by a friend and I was overruled by others in the group who preferred to have a more relaxing trip. On this trip, I traveled with 4 long time friends from graduate school (all girls).
On our second day in Lisbon, Ricardo picked us up promptly at 8am to take us to his hometown, Sintra. Weeks prior to the trip, he was already in communication with us via email, and advised us to get tickets online, and gave recommendations on what time to get there to avoid the crowds, etc. He took us to the Sintra National Palace, Pena Palace, and gave us quite an outstanding lunch recommendation in town. Ricardo is a highly engaging person, friendly, very knowledgeable about the area and its history, and takes a lot of pride in his town and the work that he does. He was very easy to talk to, and provides highly intelligent and in-depth insights about the country, his town, local sights, and just about any topic of interest.
After lunch, he took us to another palace, then to Cabo de Roca, Cascais and back to Lisbon..Throughout the trip, Ricardo made sure that we had options to choose from, and that we spend the day and pace the sightseeing trip according to our liking. When we seem to be not interested in a couple of the stops, he adjusted quickly and made sure we had other alternatives to choose from, and that we spend our day the way we prefer to.
We hired him again to take us from Lisbon to Porto, with a stop in Fatima. We had the same excellent experience - the trip was truly enjoyable, with stops at some interesting local (and less known) sights.
At our final stop in Porto, Ricardo graciously carried all our heavy luggage (all 5 of them, full of shopping loot) up the steps of the hotel we are staying at, even before we asked for help.
As he learned that one of the girls would stay in Portugal longer (her husband joined her and they stayed another week) , Ricardo continued to offer his expertise and sent my friend recommendations via Viber. He also checked to make sure they made it to the destination safely, and continued to provide local tips and recommendations. He is truly proud of the work he does, and genuinely cares about his clients.
Would highly recommend! Not only was the trip truly enjoyable, but we also felt that we gained a new friend in Ricardo and a more insider / local connection with the places we visited. Muito Obrigado!

I and three traveling companions used Ta no ir to guide us around Sintra for a day. Although I had planned the trip with Ricardo, on game day he and the other Ricardo were both busy with other groups. We ended up with the wife of one Ricardo, Deanna (sp?) She proved up to the task and we highly recommend her.
We were picked up at the train station by Deanna, driving a VW van, which was clean and fairly modern. It proved to be a comfortable ride.
Over the course of our day, we visited Quinta da Regaleiria, the National Palace, had lunch and a bit of shopping time. I recommend both places we visited.
Deanna added value by stopping us on the road up to the Palace and a scenic turnout where we could photo that and the Moorish castle. She recommended skipping the Moorish Castle because, as she said, "there's not much of anything inside the walls." At the other two stops, she parked the car, went in with us, greeted the ticket takers by name, and got us quick entrance into the sites. It felt like VIP service.
She also had water for us in the car, recommended an out-of-the-way restaurant with good food, and returned us to the coastal town of Cascais to catch a train back to Lisbon. All along the way, she kept up a good narrative (in excellent English) about the area and answered all our questions. I'm not one for tours, but felt this one was worth the money spent, particularly since it was a private tour.

We had two really great experiences with both Ricardos! We went to Sintra for one trip and to Obidos and Nazare for a second trip. It was such an amazing experience they were both great tour guides. Both of the are very knowledgeable about the areas and culture.
My friend and I did not decide till the night before to go to Obidos and when we emailed at 11pm we didn't know if it would even happen. TA NO IR responded right away and picked us up the next day.

This was my second trip with Ricardo, and the third trip for our family. We brought the whole family from around the world to stay in a home in Sintra expressly because we knew that if we had Ricardo and his team there would be the knowledge, professionalism and friendship to guarantee an incredible time.
I am sure I will edit this as I remember all of the incredible last minute personal additions that were provided, but wanted to put this up so anyone wondering if they should go check out Portugal would feel comfortable. Go. Go now. But, go with Ta No Ir.

If you are on the lookout for transportation and/or a guide in the area of Lisbon and surroundings, this is the guy to get in touch with.
A friend and I went to Lisbon for the first time last week, and were fortunate enough to receive Ricardos contactinfo before we left Norway. He came highly recommended from a common friend who also spent some time in Ricardos car(s). We met Ricardo on our second day in Lisbon. He picked us up at our apartment and from the very first moment, we felt safe, privileged and lucky. Ricardos knowledge of sights, small and big, local secrets, hidden and well known, went far beyond what we expected. His english is very good (that can come in handy if you dont speak portuguese), he is funny, easy to talk to and he will make sure you spend your day(s) the way you like to spend it. He will adapt to whatever preferences you and your travelpartners have, and is not the kind of guide who just does his rutine. This guy actually likes what he does, and takes pride in doing it well. All in all, we had an awsome day! Actually, it ended up being more than just one day, but thats another story. Dont think about it-send him an email and find out for yourself.
