My partner and I booked electric bikes for a day trip exploring Sintra. My boyfriend had actually booked the bikes for the wrong day, but when we turned up they said no problem and managed to find us two bikes at the back of the store with no extra cost/penalty charge which was great! They also ended up charging us a bit less because we had come a little later which we both thought was very generous of them.
About the bikes themselves - definitely get electric bikes when travelling in Sintra! My partner and I both cycle in London but some of the hills are very, very steep and can tire you out pretty quickly if you're not careful. The lady there (neither of us can remember her name unfortunately) gave us a map with really useful recommendations of places of visit and eat, as well as the best routes for us to pack in everything we wanted.
We had such a good day and would thoroughly recommend the company to anyone wanting to explore Sintra! :)

My daughter and I wanted to see several of the monuments in Sintra. We had reserved a couple of bikes for the day. When we showed up, the staff were extremely helpful. They asked what our goals were for the day, then they mapped out the best route for us to take. We picked up picnic food and water in the town square, and the took off. We easily saw Quinta da Regaleira, the estate of Monserrate and the Pena palace. I was worried about my ability to manage the bike, as I had recently had shoulder surgery, but it is a breeze with the little electric motor attached. I highly recommend Park E Bikes for a fun day in Sintra!

Five of us rented bikes for a 25 mile bike tour of Sintra, down to the coast then back up to the castle(s) near the highest elevation. This was a 3000 ft + elevation gain. The service and bikes were excellent. The service rep, Joanna, was very courteous and attentive to detail. The bikes had large capacity batteries, very important since this was an extreme climb. Highly recommended !

I rented e-bike for five hours and managed to visit Cape Roca, see the ocean and then on the way back visited Pena Palace. It was a fun day and I would do it again. I first thought that having a motor is lame and wanted to opt in for regular bike, but then I would not be able to see as many places, and I still got the dose of exercise.

I had the best time pedaling around Sintra. The electric assist made going up the hills a breeze. I was able to visit 4 sites while in Sintra in the bike. The communication with the company was always prompt and they are really nice to work with! When it is super busy in Sintra you will be cruising by everyone waiting in the bus lines and you can park you bike right at the entrance!

Park E-bike arranged e-bikes and a guide for my husband and I to see Sintra. Jaoa was a wonderful guide who shared his passion for the beauty and marvels of Sintra. Sintra is truly a special place with natural beauty and architecture which is inspired by influences from around the world which merges together with spectacular results.
The e-bikes were a great way to get around as the roads are steep and winding and we didn’t have any parking problems and could avoid most of the traffic. Highly recommend the tour for families with children old enough to handle full size bikes.
I almost selected a standard bike tour which would have been a huge mistake. However if ride at a competitive level it might be enjoyable.

I was a bit misguided thinking that an Ebike would be like a scooter..
But, a couple of emails to Park Ebikes cleared it up and the weather guarantee sounded like a great choice so we booked.
Joana was super helpful in setting us up, and SHE WAS VERY CLEAR that this was a bike that had electric assist and multiplied the input BY YOU.!! So off we went to tackle the hills of Sintra.
We do quite a bit of cycling at home, but nothing like the hills there. You really felt a kick of the electric power kick in when peddling.
It was still a lot of work, and great exercise, but we had SO much fun on our 5-6 hours of touring the sites of Sintra.
The rental office near Portela de Sintra is just before the main train station in Sintra, which is so much easier to navigate than the centre of town, especially when getting a rental with the adjustments and instructions...
HIGHLY RECOMMEND the personal service and top quality bikes with Park Ebikes

Amazing day biking Sintra, through Unesco forest, and beautiful towns along the coast. Goncalo was knowledgeable and fun. Perfect day! He recommended e-bikes...thank God we listened...some crazy hills, but power mode made it doable. Still got exercise!!

- an excellent chance to get away from the hustle and bustle of masses of tourists in the centre of Sintra and around Pena and the Mourish Castle

I'm looking to hire bikes on my visit but not do a tour, just go and see a few things on my list. My only concern is whether there is anywhere to chain the bikes up whilst visiting attractions. Please can you let me know? Thank you! :)
