Portugal Nature Trails (PNT) put together a most amazing trip. They tailored a two night Sintra trip which started with an airport pick up and very informative orientation. Everything was very well organized and the Sintra leg combined a B&B styled country inn with an amazing view of the ocean with a very nice central hotel in Sintra which allowed us to maximize our Sintra experience. We then were up EARLY to be driven by a most informative driver (learning about Lisbon history and the economics of the rural region) as we headed to Porto Covo to start the Fisherman's Way Trail. We (my wife and I) were dropped off at the trailhead and actually had to call an audible mid-hike as the weather had turned. We called the inn we were staying at and the innkeeper's husband and his brother picked us up! They were delightful! And the hospitality and food at Casa do Adro da Igreja were wow!
The hike from Vila Nova de Milfontes to Almograve was spectacular. It is like hiking in the mountains when you take a turn and see another mountain pass; here you see another amazing coastal shoreline. The people were wonderful at Almograve and then it was onto another spectacular hiking day to Touril. The Herdade do Touril was a beautiful property and the restaurant was excellent. The hike from Touril to Brejão was probably our favorite. It was a combination of the blue skies, the way the light was hitting the ocean spray, the perfect day for weather, but it really was a very special day, finishing up with another lovely spot at Casa da Seiceira and dinner in town. And then onto the final day to Casas do Moinho in Odeceixe - a very cool beach town with lots of restaurant choices. All of the luggage forwarding made its way with no issues or concerns at all (such a big benefit not having to worry). We separately made our way to Armacao de Pera and then Teresa from PNT picked us up for a most enjoyable drive to Lisbon where PNT had us booked into a fantastic central hotel. We were so pleased with our trip and would recommend this hike and working with the people at Portugal Nature Trails who created a great itinerary and gave us peace of mind throughout. They were awesome!! Don and Carolyne, Winnipeg, Canada

We booked two self guided bicycle trips with Portugal Nature Trails (PNT) in May 2023, Alentejo Vineyards and Easy Wild Coast. PNT exceeded our expectations in all regards.
We rented e-bikes. Without them we would have had trouble with the distance and elevation (although we are fit and active we are in our late 60s). My spouse is 4ft 10 in (147 cm). PNT fitted her with a new adult ladies XS. Worked perfectly for her. The PNT representative tuned the bikes for us and made sure we were comfortable before he left us to start the self guided trips.
The navigation app, Ride With GPS, worked well but on a couple of occasions we had to practice our orientation skills. All part of the adventure. The routes were off road or on back roads with little traffic.
Accommodations, which always included breakfast, were above average. Recommendations in the information package for lunch and dinner were excellent.
Transportation from Lisbon to the start of the first trip, between trips and back to Lisbon was on time.
During the booking process PNT were patient and flexible with our requests for modifications to the itinerary.
In summary we would recommend Portugal Nature Trails to anyone wanting a self guided, adventurous bike tour.

Here's an edited version of your text:
This was my first experience booking through a travel agency, but my friend and I decided to go with Portugal Nature Trails because someone from his job had just returned from the Portuguese Way to Santiago through them and shared a positive review. I was extremely pleased with the service for several reasons.
Firstly, the price was very reasonable considering the length of our stay, especially since it was near high season. It provided us with peace of mind to have someone else handle the bookings, and the convenience of having our bags transferred from place to place was a delightful bonus.
Secondly, the staff provided excellent service. Communication from the various representatives was thorough and clear right from the start, with prompt responses to my questions. When my flight to Porto was postponed for a day, they ensured that someone would pick me up at the airport on a Sunday afternoon and transfer me to the second hotel, while my friend could still embark on the route from the first day, starting from Ponte de Lima. The person who picked me up, Pedro, was exceptionally friendly and easy to talk to. We encountered only two minor hiccups: the luggage transfer was slightly delayed once, and transportation from the end point of our route to the hotel was delayed another time (resulting in two consecutive nights at the same hotel). However, even in those instances, contacting the staff was effortless, and the minor issues were swiftly resolved.
Thirdly, the apps provided with instructions, recommendations, and GPS routes were intuitive, helpful, and easy to use. Occasionally, the route diverged slightly to offer a more scenic or shorter path to our destination.
I would highly recommend Portugal Nature Trails to anyone and will definitely consider them for future vacations. Many thanks to all the employees for providing us with a wonderful experience.

We booked the Portugal Wild Coast five-day (seven with transfers) self-guided cycling tour from Santiago do Cacém to Sagres and chose the off-road option. Fantastic scenery, with some challenging riding in spots. Most of it is through the Southwest Alentejo Nature Park, so fairly unspoiled. All the hotels were very comfortable, and the planning and organization by the PNT team is excellent. Highly recommended.

We went to Sao Miguel Island for 8 days. Portugal Nature Trails had booked the two hotels, and suggested 5 hikes and a whale watching trip.
We booked flights.
Everything went smooth, transfer to/from airport and to/from each hike. We had nice communication with all members of the team all the way, and when we wanted little changes in the programme it was never a problem.
The island and the hikes were absolutely amazing, and I recommend arranging transport to/from hikes with a company like this, to allow good hikes.

My wife and I engaged Portugal Nature Trails to plan a non-guided hiking vacation through the Douro Valley, with an emphasis on wineries and wine tastings.
The company was professional from beginning to end. All of our arrangements, trail guides, accommodations, restaurants, wineries, etc were organized using two apps - Trip Plans and Ride with GPS. It made everything from staying on the exact track while walking through the many vineyard fields to scheduling wine tastings at wineries we were walking past, a quick and easy process.
The accommodations, wineries and restaurants they suggested were all spot on. They really have an intimate knowledge of this area.
A special call-out to Quinta da Faisca (Secret Spot Winery) for being one of the best wine tastings we have ever had in any country we have been. It is small, intimate and they really acted as if they appreciated us being there. And, they do not accept tour buses. Less than a mile after we left the Secret Spot Winery, we passed another winery that had no less than eight tour buses in the parking lot.
Toward the end of our hiking tour, I had a bit of a medical emergency. The people at Portugal Nature Trails could not have been more helpful. They helped us throughout the process and really showed that they cared about our well-being.
If you are ever in Portugal and want to do some hiking, I cannot recommend any company better than Portugal Nature Trails. Highly recommend.

Where to start? It’s a difficult judgement call, because everything about this trip was mind blowing. Clearly said, I am in love with this country and the people anyways, Portugal is just such a precious gem stone, let’s hope the masses will stay away and Portugal will not become the next Mallorca so to speak. However, lets focus on PNT: this company and the people are awesome! From the pre-ride planning, through execution till end (returning the bike) just everything was super super well organized, with such passion and dedication, rare to find elsewhere these days. This was literally one of my best experiences in my life and I am so happy I did this tour! Many thanks to our great intern Ines, who has found this great company.
Dear PNT team: kudos, you are fantastic!

We had a 10 day walking trip of Mainland Portugal booked but had to switch to Madeira 5 days before we planned to leave due to covid restrictions. Diana and team were amazing to find us a new adventure and get it booked for us is short order. We did 11 hikes (10-20K a day) over 10 days and stayed in 7 different towns over the 2 weeks we were there. The sites were amazing and we tried all the local food and wine etc. Everything went well and the team and the drivers were very nice and treated us well. Most of the hotels were upscale and all included breakfast. I highly recommend Portugal Nature Trails.

I can highly recommend the bike tour in the fresh air through landscapes and rivers. PNT has put together a really nice nature program. I would choose PNT again as the tour operator for my next bike tour. Thanks for everything and see you next time.

Just completed a self-guided hiking tour in the Duoro Valley. The experience during planning, upon arriving, and throughout the tour was excellent. The staff was communicative and the tools they provided (the GPS and Tour Guide apps) were perfect. I thought the trails were well planned - Day 1 was challenging but short, Day 2 was less challenging but longer, and Day 3 was short, leaving us enough time to relax and fit in a winery tasting/tour. We took the train there from Porto but returned by boat was a good idea for a different experience. I would highly recommend this company. Our stays at Quinta de la Rosa and Casa de Loivos were wonderful. The third accommodation (Casa De Vilarinho De S. Romão) was charming, but was a bit too rustic for my taste. However, the friendly hostess and staff and the delicious dinner that was served made up for it.

Hi, I would like to know the best company to book through. We're interested in something self-guided where our luggage is brought from one accommodation to the next. 8-10 day stay
Thanks in advance for any help!

Is it possible to arrange a one day coastal hike, ( not too strenuous ) for 2 people the last week of March 2016? Could transportation be arranged from Lisbon, as well as a return to Lisbon all in one day? If so, what would the timeline look like, and the cost for 2 people to be transported to and from the start and ending points of selected trail section?
Thank you very much,
Nancy

Hello Nancy, sorry for the late response. Yes it is possible to organize a private tour for you by the coast.
Price is 2 x 49€ for hiking + 2 x 20€ for the transfers, so total is 138€
If you want to go ahead please send us a email with the days you can do the hike.
Thank you
