About
Palace built during the last decades of the 19th century, designed by the first Portuguese architect José Luiz Monteiro, and decorated by the best artists of the time Luigi Manini and Leandro de Souza Braga. The Park is a veritable Eden of rare and exuberant tree species, designed by landscaper François Nogré.
It was the stage for the movie Night Gate, with Johnny Depp and directed by Roman Polanski.

Biester Palace is absolutely fantastic, magical and leaves us without words in front of so much beauty either in the palace itself or in the wonderful gardens!!! Palace extremely preserved and cared for, where at the entrance of the building give us disposable protections for the shoes ( great idea! ). We travel in time with extraordinary decoration and angelic paintings. Miradouro das Descobertas allows a wide view that leaves us open ❤️ No doubt a place to visit more than once, with the advantage of not being overcrowded and allow us to enjoy everything with calmness. One last note, Johnny Depp filmed some scenes from Polansky's Ninth Door in the Biester Palace ❤️

The palace is very beautiful but the park should be more careful.
You think logos, poses and waterfalls should be cleaner. The waterfalls were covered with plants and wood and the steps were dirty because the price I think they should be cleaner. The only reason not to give 5 stars

What a lovely palace.
Smaller scale.
Definitely recommend . Open when everything else is closed.
Whoever wrote the English commentary needs to retire. Overly complex, completely unintelligible. In the end we gave up. Using a thesaurus three times in each sentence rarely a good idea.
Sweet little tea room with charming hostess.

A local guide recommended this place, and it certainly did not disappoint. It is a wonderful garden, with fabulous views and so peaceful. The house is beautiful, with access to several floors, which gives a real insight into life in the palace. We also recommend the cafe, with a nice terrace. This place was, for us, the highlight of our visit to Sintra, the absence of crowds made it all the more enjoyable. A real hidden gem!

We really enjoyed our trip to Palacio Biester. The gardens are interesting and well maintained and the views are spectacular. The house is also interesting and really well presented. We were surprised not to see more visitors. It was a nice quiet place even though Sintra was very busy. Definitely worth a visit.

Still (?) an absolute insider tip and only open for tours since 2022. While the tourists step on each other's toes next door in the Quinta da Regaleira, we had the park and the villa almost to ourselves - and that during the Easter holidays 😀.
The employees at the ticket counter and in the café (be sure to stop by, you can sit in a real greenhouse) were also super nice.

Yesterday we arrived at the ticket office and the employee Cristina Gonzalez provided us with curiosities, tips and practical and historical information about the place, in addition to clarifying our doubts about the place and the region, always with immense friendliness, energy and professionalism.
When we arrived at the palace we were greeted by Sara, who was friendly and explained all the curiosities about the palace, always very helpful and professional.
Both employees were incredibly knowledgeable and incredible and we couldn't help but recognize their work and dedication.
Throughout the visit we came across other employees who always greeted us with a greeting and a smile, which made us feel welcome at the place, a fantastic team of professionals.
Regarding the price, it's worth it, but considering that Palácio da Pena charges 14 euros and is twice the size both in terms of building and garden, the price is a little high, we went to Sintra on purpose to visit Biester so we were going previously informed about prices, but we witnessed in the poster area with prices, at the entrance, several groups of national and foreign tourists giving up visiting due to the price.

Biester palace and park. This property is located right next to Quinta da Regaleira. Perhaps we like this park so much because we went to Pena Palace the previous day which was a nightmare and a very negative experience. Biester Park and Palace is a tranquil park with a beautiful restored palace in the middle of it. There were more workers than visitors on the day we went and we were the only couple in the palace when we toured it.
The palace is very interesting and charming. There is a teahouse on the property that serves very reasonably priced sandwiches, pastries, fresh fruit juice, wines, and tea and coffee. The previous day at Pena Palace we paid €42 for admission then had to queue for an hour and then shuffled through the Paris as there were so many people in front of us and behind us we could not even walk properly. Biester Park cost us 10 euros. However if you like that sort of thing go for it. I will take Biester Park in Palace any day.
While Biester park in Palace does not compare to the Quinta da Regaleira it is a very pleasant two hour stroll through tranquil greenery.

We visited this museum on October 3rd. You cannot drive your own car to this museum. You have to put your car in a parking lot around the train station and go on foot or by public transport.
After buying the tickets you can take a walk through the gardens. The palace is on a hill and some parts are quite steep. While not every room in the house is fully furnished, it's worth checking out. The chapel is the highlight of the palace's visit. From a vantage point you can see the Pena Palace and the Sintra Palace.

We visited Bridget house which our tour guide called the “witches house”, so of course we had to explore it. The grounds are immaculate and stunning to walk. The palace itself is structurally beautiful and has some of the best views of the Moorish castle from below.
