As an avid long distance ultra endurance cyclist I have raced and toured all over the United States and in at least a dozen countries. This summer I was looking for an intense solo adventure followed by a mellow ride with my wife who is a novice cyclist. Cycling Rentals and Tours was able to arrange both for me. I have done similar tours with other outfits in the past who only arranged for a single luggage transfer from the first hotel to the final hotel of the tour. This necessitated me to carry over 40lbs of gear with me in my panniers every day. Cycling Rentals and Tours was able to book tours that included daily luggage transfers and included that in their price. My first solo tour was a 14 day tour on the Camino de Santiago from Pamplona to Santiago de Compostela. My second tour with my wife was an 8 day ride on the EuroVelo from Porto to Ericiera. For both tours, Cycling Rentals and Tours arranged and prepaid for all of the hotels, provided daily luggage transfers, a detailed route guide including dinning and sightseeing options, and Ridewithgps files for each day. The 3 bikes they provided us with worked flawlessly and their support team was available for questions via phone or text. The local support team of Edwardo and Ricky took care of the day to day stuff while Didi back in Florida looked after the big picture items. They were even able to arrange for a last minute transport of my wife and her bike on the final riding day of the EuroVelo tour when I felt she had pushed herself too far. I would definitely use Cycling Rentals and Tours again and highly recommend them to anyone else. I would rate them as 5 stars out of 5 and give them 6 if I could.

I hired a gravel bike from Cycling Rentals to cycle the French Camino. It was a great choice; their service was fantastic. I walked from St Jean Pied de Port to Roncesvalles, where Cycling Rentals had delivered the bike for me. It took me about 45 minutes to setup, this consisted of unpacking it, straighten the handlebars, putting on the pedals, adjusting the saddle to my preference, and doing my safety checks. Cycling Rentals provided clear instructions, adequate tools, and repair kit.
Over the next 14 days I cycled 791 Km without a hitch, the bike was comfortable, and most important for me, I did not experience any issues with gear change or chain slips. My only recommendation for Cycling Rentals is that they move to supplying bikes fitted with hydraulic brakes. I found the manual brakes strenuous on steep hills.
When I arrived at Santiago de Compostela, I simply had to prepare the bike for shipment back to Cycling Rentals, which was just a matter of following very clear and simple instructions.
I highly recommend Cycling Rentals and will use them again.

Absolutely perfect execution and ease in our trip to Europe!! The bikes were delivered to the right place, they were of the highest quality and then drop off too was a breeze.
I would recommend to anyone who wants to do a European bike holiday but doesn’t want to lug their bikes onto a plane and such. My boyfriend and I planned our own route and it worked with ease.

Our self guided cycling tour along the Eurovelo1 route from Porto to Sintra was an exceptional experience. Our Kona e-bikes worked flawlessly, hotel accommodations were super comfortable and top notch and the cycle route gave us a really interesting “view” of urban and rural life along the Silver Coast of Portugal. Navigation using the supplied route was error free and easy to use - as long as we paid attention to the app’s directions. Our bikes were waiting for us in Porto on the first day of our tour and our luggage was transported to each day’s destination without incident. Didi and the Cycling-Rentals team were very helpful and have put together great experience where Portugal and its people can be experienced in a safe, entertaining, and thoroughly enjoyable way.

We had 2 couples on the Rota Vicente’s route. What a magnificent trip. The bikes were delivered to our hotel for pickup and none of us even needed to adjust the seat. The were setup great.
The routes were very well laid out and the Ride with GPS app was easy to use and very accurate.
Accommodations were better than expected, and I can’t say enough about our host Fernando at Odeceixce Vert. He was above and beyond.
The routes were challenging but we had trained and were ready. We did still have to walk up a couple of the steeper climbs!
Highly recommend the team at Cycling-Rentals. Before event communication was great and everything went off without a hitch.

My friend Jackie and I rented a couple of e-bikes for a self guided tour of the Rota Vicentina along the southern coast of Portugal. It was a wonderful trip with dramatic coastal scenery and interesting villages along the way. The route and itinerary was very well planned and easy to follow, the nightly B&B accommodations were excellent, and the bikes themselves were high quality and in excellent condition. Diedre, our local consultant, was extremely helpful and accommodating in adapting the tour for our specific needs and preferences. Unqualified recommendation for this trip and tour company!

Amazing adventure into e bike cycling from Setubal to Sagres along the Rota Vincentina. Spectacular beaches and tranquil cycling through chestnut and oak forests on mainly quiet roads. Plenty of time to stop and swim, drink a beer, eat lunch and still arrive at three star hotels for a relaxing evening and enjoy delicious meals.
This route will take you away from the main tourist areas, and show a different Portugal.
The town of Vila Nova de Milfontes will show you where the Portuguese like to holiday.

Fantastic experience with Cycling Rentals. We rode the Rota Vincentina route, from Setúbal to Sagres on gravel bikes. The hotels, food, bicycle equipment and entire trip was extremely well organized and presented for a self guided bicycle trip. The route finding utilized Ride With GPS and was quite accurate. My wife and I are experienced cyclists and found the routes to be enjoyable, fun and challenging at times. Of course, we got lost a couple of times - that is part of the mystical experience of self guided cycling. Great interactions with local Portuguese people,culture and coastal views. I have no hesitation in recommending Cycling Rentals and the Rota Vincentina.

My wife and I rented touring bikes from Cycling Rentals picked up in Evora PT and left in Estremoz. The bikes were excellent, great riding and allowed us to ride up elevation gains. Everything was handled professionally with excellent communication with Didi at Cycling Rentals. We self-planned our tour route and got some helpful tips from Didi. We highly recommend Cycling Rentals for a great bike experience.

After having made very good experiences with Cycling Rentals first time in 2021 I again used the bike rent service of Cycling Rentals in September this year. As this year I did not travel alone but with a friend of mine I rented two bikes this time. Both bikes were in good conditions and very well prepared to perfectly meet our individual needs (my friend is much taller than me). No problems at all occurred during our two weeks trip in Portugal . My friend told that he could manage his bike rent even better than his own at home. The service before/ beyond the bike rent itself was again excellent as well. All question upfront were comprehensively answered. So, Cycling Rentals again gets my full recommendation.

Hi, My friends and I like to E- bike parts of Portugal and /or Spain.
In Portugal the Algave and Sintra region, but are open to suggestions?
And in Spain the Southern region, again open to suggestions?
maybe approx 5 nights in each region.
We are looking for bike tour operators. And some rough costing of the people of tripadvisor who have done these bike tours.

Most mountain bike trails in Sintra are unmarked and GPS/cell coverage is minimal. For this reason, we offer only guided day trips for trail riding in Sintra. Please see our website for more details and day trip descriptions,

Hi there, I will spend a couple of days in Sintra. As my accommodation is a bit in the countryside (Janas) I was wondering if it is possible to rent a bike for being more flexible and independent of the local buses. Can anybody give me an advice? Is the distance from Sintra to Janas too far to go by bike?

Janas is approximately 9 - 10km from the center of Sintra so it's not too far but be advised that Sintra is very hilly making our Ebikes a popular option in this area.

Hello there!If anyone can help me I would appreciate. I read somewhere that you can rent bicycle in Sintra and includes free admission to four sites – Castelo dos Mouros, Palácio Nacional da Pena, Monserrate Park and Convento dos Capuchos. Can anyone tell me if this is true? Also it would help me to know the prices, and if there are bicycle for an 8 year boy (regular or elecric).

Our Park Ebike stand offers ebike tour packages that includes park admission to Pena Palace, the Moorish Castle, Capuchos and Monserrate.
Currently we do not carry child size bikes or child bike seats.
