We were very impressed with the quality of Cycling Rentals’ service. They are very well organized, helpful and accommodating. They were available to answer our questions and concerns via email, communicating clearly and within a very short delay. The delivery and pick up of the bikes was flexible and made very simple, thanks to their well organized system. We cycled from Sesimbra to Lagos in Portugal and our trip went down without a hitch thanks to Cycling Rentals and their very helpful staff. Special thanks to Didi and Joana!

The company was very clear and efficient and at the same time personable. I had asked them to deliver a bike to a very out of the way place and despite local difficulties to do with this and with holidays they made sure this happened exactly as promised. They made the whole process easy and enjoyable.
I would use them again for sure and recommend them to anyone who wants to cycle from anywhere to anywhere without hassle.

A wonderful way to see Portugal. Cycling rentals makes it so easy to just get on the bike and ride. The bikes were shipped to our first hotel in Setúbal. They were so easy to set up. All the instructions were very clear and simple, from setting up the bike, to starting the iPhone to get the directions, to completing final tear-down of bikes and equipment after the trip. Each hotel chosen was top notch and the staff at each hotel expected our arrival and were welcoming. They made it so easy to store the bikes so we could get on with the evening. We did not have one glitch along the way, which is incredible for a 7 day trip —moving from place to place each day. Our bags arrived at each location without a problem and were already placed in our room when we arrived, so all we had to do was store our bikes (each hotel had an inside storage location). When we had a question along the way, the cycling rental staff was very responsive. Shout out to Casa do Adro— the staff family operated) was so welcoming and the owner so very kind and helpful. Breakfasts were amazing each morning (we had a two night stay there (day off from cycling) which was perfect. The town of Milfontes is a perfect place to stay 2 days. Lastly, we even had to change the time of our final pick up in Sagres to Lagos and we just texted the staff and it was done! This is the only company to cycle with —they are amazing!!! Shout out to Diedre Knowlton who assisted us in rescheduling the tour a year and a half after our original booking (trip was cancelled due to COVID in March 2020). She was so responsive and helpful esp. in assisting with the best time to travel. I Highly recommend sept b/c there’ are less crowds. Also highly recommend the Rota Vincentina tour. Beautiful trip along the coast from Setúbal to Sagres. Make sure you have a few days to relax in beautiful Lagos after the trip. Be prepared for some off-roading and some climbing but all is manageable and fun. The hybrid bikes were perfect, and we’re easy to control when off-road in gravel and sand. Thank you cycling rentals for a memorable trip!! First class!! Don’t hesitate to book you won’t regret it!!

My wife and I rented touring bikes from Cycling Rentals picked up in Evora PT and left in Estremoz. The bikes were excellent, great riding and allowed us to ride up elevation gains. Everything was handled professionally with excellent communication with Didi at Cycling Rentals. We self-planned our tour route and got some helpful tips from Didi. We highly recommend Cycling Rentals for a great bike experience.

I rented a bike for my friend who was visiting from the UK for a few days. The process was straightforward and communication was rapid and professional. The bike was good quality, an appropriate size and served us perfectly for the trip we took down to a wine estate in Palmela. I have literally zero complaints. I know they deliver all over the country but we picked up the bike in Sintra because I live nearby. Everything was smooth, well executed and efficient. I'd definitely use them again and would recommend them to anyone visiting Portugal who needs a bike.

So glad I snuck away from the family to get a ride in! Ralph was fantastic and the Sintra Forest is a real oasis of shade and solitude in the midst of a highly visited ( for all the right reasons) destination. The route was perfect, and, Ralph did an excellent job listening to what I was hoping to experience and setting the ride accordingly.
The uphill provided good cardio and the loamy soil was fun to slide around a bit on the way down. The ride was not overly technical but definitely, enough to keep one's interest and the hardtail bike kept me a bit more focused. Ralph was both an excellent guide and conversationalist. I hope to ride with him again when I return to Portugal. Highly recommend the experience!

We walked the Camino from Porto, Portugal to Santiago de Compestella, Spain. We were working on a documentary and rented a bike for one of our Photographers to scout the trail. Delivery was made to our 1st hotel on time , bike was easy to set up and they pick it up at our last location in Santiago on time. Perfect.

I hired a gravel bike from Cycling Rentals to cycle the French Camino. It was a great choice; their service was fantastic. I walked from St Jean Pied de Port to Roncesvalles, where Cycling Rentals had delivered the bike for me. It took me about 45 minutes to setup, this consisted of unpacking it, straighten the handlebars, putting on the pedals, adjusting the saddle to my preference, and doing my safety checks. Cycling Rentals provided clear instructions, adequate tools, and repair kit.
Over the next 14 days I cycled 791 Km without a hitch, the bike was comfortable, and most important for me, I did not experience any issues with gear change or chain slips. My only recommendation for Cycling Rentals is that they move to supplying bikes fitted with hydraulic brakes. I found the manual brakes strenuous on steep hills.
When I arrived at Santiago de Compostela, I simply had to prepare the bike for shipment back to Cycling Rentals, which was just a matter of following very clear and simple instructions.
I highly recommend Cycling Rentals and will use them again.

Absolutely perfect execution and ease in our trip to Europe!! The bikes were delivered to the right place, they were of the highest quality and then drop off too was a breeze.
I would recommend to anyone who wants to do a European bike holiday but doesn’t want to lug their bikes onto a plane and such. My boyfriend and I planned our own route and it worked with ease.

I rent a bicycle for an individual 2 weeks tour in Portugal to be delivered in Guarda to start my tour and to be collected in Porto after my tour. I was completely satisfied with all provided by Cycling Rental & Tours. The bike was very well prepared for me and in very good order and condition. No problems at all occurred during the trip. The service in general was excellent. Bike delivery to hotel in Guarda worked well. All of my questions upfront were answered comprehensively by Didi and the information provided helped me to decide for the right bike and equipment to meet my individual needs.

And in Spain the Southern region, again open to suggestions?
maybe approx 5 nights in each region.

Most mountain bike trails in Sintra are unmarked and GPS/cell coverage is minimal. For this reason, we offer only guided day trips for trail riding in Sintra. Please see our website for more details and day trip descriptions,

Hi there, I will spend a couple of days in Sintra. As my accommodation is a bit in the countryside (Janas) I was wondering if it is possible to rent a bike for being more flexible and independent of the local buses. Can anybody give me an advice? Is the distance from Sintra to Janas too far to go by bike?

Janas is approximately 9 - 10km from the center of Sintra so it's not too far but be advised that Sintra is very hilly making our Ebikes a popular option in this area.

Hello there!If anyone can help me I would appreciate. I read somewhere that you can rent bicycle in Sintra and includes free admission to four sites – Castelo dos Mouros, Palácio Nacional da Pena, Monserrate Park and Convento dos Capuchos. Can anyone tell me if this is true? Also it would help me to know the prices, and if there are bicycle for an 8 year boy (regular or elecric).

Our Park Ebike stand offers ebike tour packages that includes park admission to Pena Palace, the Moorish Castle, Capuchos and Monserrate.
Currently we do not carry child size bikes or child bike seats.
