We took a taxi from Lisbon to Sintra and this was the first building we saw leaving the taxi. We found that it's a Town Hall. In front of it is a stone like monument. Nice spot for making a photo.

First beautiful building you see walking from the train station. Disneyland, perfect.
The entire town is almost perfect. Everywhere in Portugal I saw a lot of run downs buildings. Not in Sintra, everything is tourist ready. There must be people living there in huge houses ( mansions) todays standards.

This colorful building anchors the center of Sintra with several side streets radiating out from the round about. On a clear day tourists will use this sight as a nice backdrop for photos.

This is the first lovely building you come across when leaving the train /bus station. Very ornate in a neo gothic style. Very impressive tower.

Sintra is blessed with beautiful buildings and properties to visit and explore. One unexpectedly nice find is the City Hall (Camara Municipal) building located just a couple minutes walk from the Sintra Rail Station.

Built in the early 20th century by Adas Bermudes on the site of a old chapel, the City Hall building showcases a delightful clock tower with spired roof, green and white tiles and the Portuguese Coat of Arms. The rest of the building displays subtle example of Manueline architecture. There is a small monument in front of the building as well that is interesting to see. Collectively it is a very attractive building and a nice start to days of sightseeing in Sintra.

In the end, this not a typical tourist attraction but certainly a place worth spending a few minutes to view upon your arrival in Sintra. You will quickly encounter the City Hall upon leaving the rail station and making your way into the historic city centre on foot.

Note: Photos of the clock tower are good from up close but best to stand across the small square and street junction in front of the City Hall if you want photos which capture the entire building.

To show you how cool Sintra is, this thing isn't even on some walking tours. You just sort of buzz by it as you are walking into town. Gorgeous

Enjoy this beautiful building before you wander through the National Palace or go through a stroll through the town center of Sintra.

Having completed the outer photographic tour of the Municipal Chamber Building we went in and spent an hour enjoying the inner courtyard where they had a nice exhibit of Street Artists' works on Sintra sites. Really pleasant.
