- LAW64Tonbridge, United Kingdom1,794 contributionsWe always enjoy visiting this shop. Great selection of gourmet food and wine and the Woman collection of clothing is good value. If you are a tourist look out for the 10% discount offers - the international office on the ground floor gets extremely busy and are not helpful so go to the information desk at the entrance and show some ID. The staff are helpful at using the discount which is a kind of cash back to be used within a couple of days. The cafeteria had extremely slow service but there are other quicker food options.Visited February 2025Traveled as a coupleWritten February 14, 2025
- Maxim KMoscow, Russia8 contributionsTo start shopping on the ground floor at the information desk, get yourself a store card for 5 days, which will give you cashback for foreigners and a discount on your second purchase. Keep in mind the latest information on Tax Free for Russians, sanctions have been introduced Shopping Limitations for Russian residents Luxury goods are described as exceeding EUR 300 per item. When purchasing 300 Euros or more, we now have no refund on almost all goods, any clothes and shoes are classified as luxury. In our country, even an ordinary modest BOSS suit was equated to a luxury item and was denied tax free registration. If possible, split up checks when shopping; if you buy in one store, then ask for different checks so that the purchase is less than 300 Euros. We didn't know about this, perhaps if the trousers and jacket from the suit had two different checks, each would have been less than 300. You would get tax free.Visited March 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten April 27, 2024
- Joao Rodolfo L10 contributionsDepartment store with designer brands, as well as its own brand, as well as jewelry, costume jewelry, sporting goods, household appliances, electronics, and others. It has a large and diverse gastronomic space on the roof, with a beautiful view of the city. The service is good and the prices are compatible. Whenever we find an El Corte Ingles store on our travels, we end up making some purchases.Visited May 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten May 19, 2024
- D MJersey, United Kingdom16 contributionsNot sure if there is more than one in Lisbon, but the one I visited was near the Eduardo Gardens. Minus 3 level to level seven so lots to see. Typically what you would expect to find in a large department store. Designer and mainstream clothes and accessories, perfumes, jewellery, home and pet products. You can claim back tax on site between 10% and 15% depending on what you purchase. You need your passport but a copy of your passport I think is OK. The top floor has loads of small eateries and I had a pizza which was nice.Visited March 2025Traveled soloWritten March 10, 2025

We ordered a De'Longhi coffee machine from Corte Inglês as part of their Black Friday promotions.
We are still waiting almost three months later.
In that time, we've received about 12 emails promising that the coffee machine would be delivered in the next few days.
However, once we started complaining, and raising our complaints to a high enough level, it turns out that these messages are generated by the Corte Ingles system automatically and bear no relation to reality at all.
When we pushed Corte Ingles to check what the situation actually was, it turns out they had no idea when the item would be back in stock. In fact, we were given the advice to ignore emails from Corte Ingles about delivery dates, until we actually receive a message from the courier to confirm that the item is on its way.
The problem is that every time we have received a message, we had to arrange our lives around it, to make sure that one of us would be at home on the given days.
If the key to customer service is to under-promise and over-deliver, Corte Ingles has a system designed to do exactly the opposite.
Every time we've tried to contact Corte Ingles on the phone, it's a painful process that takes a long time, and involves a lot of waiting. And quite often the phone has just cut off, and of course no one calls you back, you have to start again and go through the whole process again. If you need to speak to them in English, then that's a whole another level of pain and waiting.
What is very surprising is to see the coffee machine still being offered on the Corte Ingles website as if it's still in stock!
They're trying to get people to buy and them keep stringing them along with a stream of emails that say things that they know aren't true.
Basically, you can't trust what's on the Corte Ingles website, you can't trust what they send in their emails, and you have to be very patient to get through to people who aren't going to tell you the truth anyway!
What has happened to this brand?!
Never again for us.

Pay attention to online orders!
On July 15, 2024 I went looking for a camera intax evo and I see that the Chinese el corte had with in delivery on July 17, which for me was excellent, moreover on a reliable and reliable site... I thought ! Today 2 September I still find myself waiting for the machine , I contact the assistance say they do not take responsibility and that was sent the delay email ( 10 emails in total ) and 2 months waiting ! They with 160€ and I without the camera! Aserio be careful not to keep your money and still say that you do not take responsibility because you do not know the partnerships with whom you work. unfortunately in my case if this is not resolved soon will take serious proportions in court because I know well my rights as a consumer, and it is the company el corte inglés that gives the face. Neither SHEIN nor Temu take that long, for a brand like yours is a shame.

When I went to Spain a few years ago, I had visited El Corte Ingles and loved it. So when I found out they had a location in Lisbon, I definitely wanted to check it out. Unfortunately, this one just wasn't it. Maybe my expectations were set to high because of the Barcelona one (since it is a Spanish store after all), but the Lisbon one was just lacking. The food court was just filled with over-priced restaurants. The Cafeteria was reasonably priced, but none of the menu items appealed to us. There wasn't any Portugues menu items - it was just basic sandwiches, salads, and burgers. Visting the food court was our main reason for coming here so unless you are planning to actually shop here, I'd recommend skipping it.

Mamadu Cande arbitrarily let one customer go in front of another at the supermarket checkout line.
I was the next customer at the checkout, I am an Asian woman with 11 items. Mamadu Cande asked me if I would be okay with letting a customer behind me, a White woman in her 30s with 1 item, checkout first.
I said "No. Why?!", incredulous. Mamadu Cande grabbed her item from behind mine on the checkout belt, scanned and allowed her to pay first anyway.
It was against my will, illogical, unjustified, unexplained, inexplicable, probably racist and definitely arbitrary.
I complained. Mamadu Cande simply smiled like I was being ridiculous, and gave no explanation. What is the point of queuing if the checkout staff gets to pick and choose who gets to go first? If all customers behind me have only one item, do I ever get to pay and leave?
The other customer was able-bodied and young, did not appear to be in a rush, and did not request to go first. We were not in a 10 item or less checkout line. There was completely no reason for Mamadu Cande to do what he did. I cannot believe this happened at all, and in El Corte Ingles, allegedly the best high end supermarket in Portugal.

My husband and I visited Portugal for our 40th anniversary and went to this huge indoor shopping mall several times while in Lisbon. First, we wanted to tour the mall to see how the locals enjoy their shopping. Then we noticed there were so many places to eat (downstairs and up top) -- with the mall so close to our B & B, that we ended up eating dinner there many nights at different places. Even the food court had amazing places and food (not as casual as in the US malls), and some of the top floor restaurants had delicious foods with great outdoor views! It was wonderful!

Large, modern upscale department store in the Saldanha district of Lisbon. The Sao Sebastiao Metro station stop takes you directly into the complex without having to step outside. Besides selling the usual items found in a department store, El Corte Ingles also has numerous restaurants, a food court, a pharmacy, a florist, and large grocery store. If you’re in the vicinity, El Corte Ingles is worth a visit and be sure to try and catch a bite to eat in one of the numerous eateries and restaurants.

The mall it self is huge. We stopped at a tapas restaurant on the lower level. We waited in line for 25 minutes to be shown a seat. Once we were seated we did not get served.Three other tables ,which were seated after us , got served. The only difference was the locals get preference. I guess they do not want to serve tourists! It was a Saturday & very busy. Would not advise waiting a long time to be seated , if you won’t get served.

El Corte Ingles is a great place to shop.
Building with many floors, all separated by sector: women's fashion, men's fashion, women's shoes, men's shoes, children's shoes, bookstore, sports, etc.
In terms of clothing and footwear, it has many luxury brands.
It has a floor with restaurants and a gourmet supermarket
I had dinner at Café El Corte Ingles, as it was the place with the cheapest price.
However, next door, there was a restaurant that served an all-you-can-eat buffet at lunchtime (I don't remember the price, but it wasn't expensive)
It is possible to do Taxfree directly with them. And then just validate at the airport

This shopping mall is very interesting, with several branches, and I particularly like it the most. It offers the finest collections of products, and I often visit to check out new items and do grocery shopping or buy souvenirs. Although there are cheaper places, I enjoy the presentation and experience of this location and I highly recommended it (due to the products, only).
However, one day when I was not at my best and dressed casually in jeans, a shirt, and a simple jacket, I noticed that security guards were constantly watching me and my friend. If my friend, who has a darker skin tone than mine, touched any items on display, security would approach us, without saying a word. It was a frustrating experience, and it highlighted the issue of racism and xenophobia.
What's worse, I witnessed another incident where a group of Brazilians were being mocked by a (native) Nescafe machine salesperson nearby. This happened on the upper floors of the mall. Though I can't say why the mocking began, I do not see it as a professional or customer-oriented service attitude."

There is always a festival at El Corte Ingles... during the holidays expect decorations and specialty foods and lots of folks just enjoying the season. The city, in general, turns out for the holidays with lights and decorations, and, like it said, lots of "goodies"... sweets, special bakery goods, and...
December is a great month to visit Lisbon and you will enjoy the holiday spirit.
