About
Evoking the Portuguese soul, Fado is melancholic, with voices expressing longing, accompanied by a Portuguese guitar. Part of UNESCO´s World’s Intangible Cultural Heritage, beyond the music, FADO is a sensory experience. TASTING FADO offers the best of Lisbon: visiting a theatre whilst being taken on a journey by Portuguese musicians, accompanied by traditional flavors of Porto wine and the famou

A beautiful building amongst some upscale shopping and dining. We had tickets for Sarah Millican, it's a nice size and relatively comfortable. The bar is small and at the interval you need to get a wiggle on, or you will spend all your time queuing instead of refreshing yourself.

A taste of fado (20 euros) consists of 10 minutes of a guided visit to the small theatre, and 5 or 6 fados accompanied of a pastry and a cup of porto. In at 7/05 pm, out before 8pm.
Very nice music, great musicians and great singer. But I expected more than just a short performance. It feels like they are filling time instead of giving you a proper show, which they could if they wanted.

Is a good theater to go to an occasional show. Beware when purchasing tickets as there are so seats where your view range may be limited

Situated in middle of Avenida de Liberdade, almost opposite the Metro station Avenida. This theatre hosts independent presentations. Some are local -eg an evening of Portuguese Fado - or more international. The ticket office was helpful although if you want to see a specific show it is probably best to book on line.
Inside the auditorium the seats give good sitelines - but are not exactly theatre seats - more waiting room! Fine however for a 1 - 1.5 hour show. Good sound system. Seat prices from 17 - 35 euros.
I understand you can take a tour of the theatre- but i wasn't able to find any information. The show i saw started at 9pm! Early leaflets had been incorrectly printed to say 9.30! However the theatre held the curtain until almost that, but do double check.

Attended a fantastic concert last night with Divine Comedy - political, rebellious, sad, happy, love but most of all entertaining in a quirky way that Neil Hannon has of his own. One of the best concerts I have been involved in.
The theatre was an ideal setting for the concert. Recent renovations had been done with consideration to the original features and is cute, clean, architecturally interesting. Lovely, cosy theatre. Three issues do need some attention though.
1. No facilities for buying drinks, etc. I am sure that this will be attended to at some point but temporary measures could easily have been implemented.
2. Exit from the building is very slow to the point of stop especially from the 2nd balcony and needs some thought.k
3. The three staff we encountered were quite officious in their manner which seemed to contradict the experience we have had in the last few days. For example, while waiting to exit I was by a half open day into the stalls area of the theatre. I stood in to take a few photos and a female member of staff rushed over and 'asked' me to
leave and I got the impression she would have pushed me out if necessary.
Despite this an excellent night in a lovely theatre.

I was in Lisbon late December and got tickets for The Nutcracker of course at the Tivoli! A beautiful theater at the heart of the city! Lovely building! The ballet crew could execute better than what it was but the principal dancer was out of this earth! Nice place to watch a show!!!

the place is "new" for Lisbon standars, opened in 1924, pristine and well kept; now they having the nut cracker with the russian ballet company; the show is at night time and you can purchase the tickets on line and just show your cell at the entrance (no need to printin them). The scenography, custums and the skills and interpretative of the balletistas are very good. do not leave your coat outside, you might need some warm.

Great show yesterday evening of the Improvaveis in this cozy theatre near a lot of nice little eateries and bars. Easy parking at restauradores or metro station Avenida.
