This is probably the best two hours of fun you could ever spend in any City. I was unsure what the experience had to offer but as soon as the timer starts you are transported to another age and place. Pit your wits against the room and escape. It all sounds simple but you need to think laterally and don't jump clues follow the order and they all fall into place.

I discovered this place when Groupon was running a voucher for a 50% discount. The price is normally 50 Euros per game (comparable to similar businesses), which you can split between 2-5 people. My two friends and I decided to give the Prison Room a try since it had the added challenge of being handcuffed together while trying to escape.
It's conveniently located in downtown Lisbon near Avenida da Liberdade. We parked adjacent to Parque Eduardo VII and enjoyed a pleasant walk down and burgers at American Music Burger nearby. I expected the place to have the glitter and glitz of typical entertainment style businesses but was pleasantly surprised that it was set in what appeared to be a more traditional Lisbon apartment building or old house. The only indication of the business was a small sign next to the door which we had to buzz to enter. A flight of stairs later (which unfortunately makes this inaccessible to wheel chairs), we arrived to Escape the Room's portion of the building and was greeted by our warm host who spoke Portuguese and English fluently.
Instructions and game clues are provided in English and Portuguese which makes this game traveler and local friendly. As the business is careful to not publish photos to give away the game, we were instructed to place our cell phones in a locked box for which we retained the key. The business is safety conscientious, providing us with a walkie talkie in case we needed our host's help, watching their guests via web-cam, and providing an emergency escape key in case guests need to quickly end the game and leave the room.
We were then handcuffed together and led to our cell. After being oriented to the emergency key and items marked as not being part of the game, our 60 minutes began. There was a screen indicating how much time we had remaining, which also sounded every fifteen minutes or so to provide visual clues of where to look so we were not stuck floundering for too long. With three minutes to spare, our three-person team successfully escaped!
We absolutely had an amazing time. Full of clever puzzles and a neat setting, the hour just flies by way too fast! Without hesitation, I recommend Escape the Room as a great way to build teamwork and enjoy the camaraderie of friends and colleagues.

We tried the Serial Killer (6 people, 3 in each room) and found it overall wanting.
The concept of the game is good, having to separate rooms work together to find the solution.
The game master, however, who was very friendly by the way, spoiled half the game before we even entered the rooms and the other half when explaining the rules inside the rooms. The "little tips" she gave were the answers to all the riddles. Besides, when 22 minutes were left on the clock (also, plenty of time to solve the rest of the game, at the stage we were at) she began to shout unsolicited clues through the door so that the final part of the game lost all potential fun. A loot of the riddles are not logical and the game lacks a sequence. Some of the riddles are not essential to escape, which made us feel like we lost time with things that weren't important. Also I would expect that there would no be a lot for each person to do if we were more than 3 people in each room.
There are much better options in Lisbon in the same price range.

One of the family escape game that is bad for the reputation of the concept. Communicating with a walky talky, we could not understand the clues given in a poor English by the game master. The déco is very poor, the story confusing, the players got bored. Without saying the rules of security are not respected with no safety fire escape, apparent electric wire, etc..

One of the worst of the 65 rooms I have tried. Poorly organized. Some illogical enigmas. Gamemaster was not helpful and we received spoilers before room started which took away from the fun.

This seems a little poorly organised with the host speaking not much English.
We did the prison game and were not particularly impressed.
The concept is good the execution poor.

The worst scape room I've been so far. I brought a friend with that never done that before and she got frustrated. We did the Hoffan Virus room. I rather pay a bit more and go somewhere else.

We've been in a lot of escape rooms but this was the worst ever!
We played The Hoffman Virus. It's only a single room and all the riddles are totally ridiculous and make no sense.
There hasn't been any effort in the making of this game.
The worst thing about it was that at a sudden moment the host-lady stepped into the room to intervene in our game.
Don't ever go here!

The worst escape the room game I have tried in Lisbon so far. We did the Dracula room, and found riddles that did not make sense, frustrating silent opening "doors" and very poor narrative immersion.
