Other kind of covered market
Aug 2019
Other kind of covered market. Had breakfast with cookies, croissants and coffee to take away. Building not recent, but very well kept.

A real foodie's paradise!
Apr 2019
Right at the heart of "Bairro de Campo de Ourique" and not far from "Casa de Fernando Pessoa", you will find "Mercado de Campo de Ourique". It may remind you of a shopping center food hall. In a way, yes. But it is much more than that, "Mercado de Campo de Ourique" brings the best Portuguese's cuisine in its many restaurants, bars, pastry and coffee shops, sided by the traditional market stands selling fresh vegetables, fruits, fish, meat and poultry every morning! You'll certainly love it! Enjoy!

Great Food Easy Access
Dec 2019
This place is a charm. You can get to it via the Metro which lets you off right across the street or you can walk there from Baixia. The food is great, lot's to taste (the bacalao and bacon fritters are a must). Many restaurants to choose form and the prices are just right. During Christmas break we went about 4 or 5 times and it was always packed. Go with two or more people so one person and get a table while the others order.

A perfectly sized market
Dec 2019
This market is much smaller than the Time Out Mercado. It still has produce, fish, etc. in the mornings and the food stalls that can supply you wonderful meals, but it’s a manageable size. It was very busy the evening of December 30, 2019, but we were still able to get a lovely wine and cheese/ham platter that was perfect for an early evening meal.

Neighborhood local market with great food options
Oct 2019 • Couples
We wanted to ride the local tram 28 and at the end of the line, the very convenient app from our B&B (full of great suggestions on what to do and go) indicated this local food market. Another great find with several eateries surrounded by local sellers. We had a blast eating and drinking listening to all the local atmosphere in and out buying their groceries.
Try the oister stand. Soooo fresh.

What a find!!
Dec 2019 • Couples
We got the No. 28 tram and spotted a beautiful church and the Mercado de Campo de Ourique and jumped off for a nosey. We thought it would be a fish and veg market so what a brilliant surprise to find it's a mix of food, goodies and fresh produce! It was also very Christmassy which added to the experience. Food choices were amazing. If you are vegetarian or vegan there are lots of delicious options! We started with the Hummus stall but could really do with extending our stay to fit all the other food stalls in - everything looked so delicious! It's like Time Out - you order get a buzzer and sit on the benches. We absolutely loved it and can't wait to return!! Highly recommend!

Still a bit school canteen for us
Sep 2019
Went to this one and TimeOut similar concept but this one is smaller. No doubt the food is good and varied but long communal tables not for us.Judging by the number of people who were seated it was fine for them. Just a personal choice. We went to one of the many good restaurants and had nice food in a relaxed atmosphere.

Splendidly smaller, uncrowded, high-quality market
Sep 2019
So if you're like me, a food market is on your list for Lisbon. This is the one to choose! This market is small and not overrun with tourists like the famous Time Out market. It had many stalls, but the one I fell in love with was the tea, spices, jams and nuts place called Fructos Secos. I purchased loose teas, one of which was a green tea grown in Portugal. It has a different taste than traditional green tea because it was grown in volcanic soil near the sea, infusing these elements into it. I also bought pine nuts that were from southern Portugal, which the Portuguese call white gold due to their rarity. Popping corn and two jams were added. And then four different kinds of nuts rounded out the assortment. It was truly a bounty of goodness, and all for the low, low price of 50 Euro. Bargain. We had lunch at the food stalls and it didn't disappoint. I ate an excellent dish that was comprised of soft boiled eggs, tomatoes, peppers, and feta. And my sister had an egg and sausage scramble and fries with a garlic dipping sauce. We finished our shop with a trip to the green grocers and then the tinned fish stall. There's something for everyone!

Great eating venue
Sep 2019
Wonderful place for a meal or bringing food back for later. Many food options. We had wine and Sangria and enjoyed both. Settled on eating Italian pasta which was made from scratch. Many pastry shops as well as wine bars. Also fresh fish and meat markets.
