The train station is at south end of square. Many boutiques, cafes and restaurants surround it. Suggest breakfast at cafe and site see beautiful churches extremely close by, BUT we found it best to skip the restaurants as they are 'priced' for tourists. There are much better eateries 10 minute walks or 5 minute taxi rides down local alleys.Visited July 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten November 11, 2023

The surface has been left uneven I guess for historical reasons making walking on it in humid air hazardous. Statues of men knealing in their work are situated near the former Eden Theatre now transformed into a fast fashion temple.Visited October 2023Traveled soloWritten November 16, 2023

- tk3232Sugar Land, Texas4,269 contributionsUsable plaza in every wayThis may not be the most beautiful square in the city, but it is undoubtedly a very useful and functional square. Praca dos Restauradores located between Rossio Train Station and the beginning of long Avenida da Liberdade. What useful things can you find here? The oldest Lisbon' hotel - Avenida Palace, worth to visit - chic, elegant and beautiful hall. It has a really fun interior with and elegant yet inviting oasis of a bar/lounge - popular with WWWII spies in the 20th century, bur today the tourists needing a little break to relax here. Also you can find here a Mango women clothing store (very big and useful and with benchs inside for waiting men). The 1920s Art Deco façade of the Eden Theater then overlooks the square. About 100 yards up the boulevard (past the metro station Avenida and TI on the left) is the Elevador da Gloria funicular, which goes up to the upper level of the city - Bairro Alto. And also, as I mentioned earlier, the useful Rossio train station, which you'll likely use to get to Sintra. Oh, I totally forgot - the obelisk at the center of square celebrates the restoration of Portuguese independence from Spain in 1640.Visited July 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten August 4, 2024

Praca dos Restauradores is a square in the central Baixa region of Lisbon. It is located at the southeast end of Avenida da Liberdade, near Rossio Square. Praca dos Restauradores is surrounded by buildings from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. There are many of the city's most iconic buildings around the square, including the Italian pink facade of the Foz Palace, built between the 18th and 19th centuries, and the Teatro Eden with its beautiful facade by architect Cassiano Branco and the Condes Cinema building. The Teatro Eden and the Condes Cinema Building are great examples of the Art Deco architectural style. The Condes Cinema was built by the architect Raul Tojal . Currently, it houses the Hard Rock Cafe. The square was named to celebrate the restoration of Portugal's independence in 1640. At the centre of the plaza towers a 30-metre-high white obelisk. This is a must-see place in Lisbon.

Right at the Southeast end of "Avenida da Liberdade", one of the most important avenues of Lisbon, you will find "Praça dos Restauradores". A bustling area, lots of traffic and pedestrians ... This is downtown! The square commemorates the Portuguese Independence from Spain in 1640, after 40 years of Spanish rule over Portugal. A limestone obelisk at its center was inaugurated 1n 1886, known as "Monumento aos Restauradores" and it honors all those brave men responsible for the restauration of the nation's Independence. The famous neo-manueline railway station - "Estação do Rossio", as well as the "Praça do Rossio", are just at a short walking distance. Enjoy!

Dear Sirs:
Last week we were visiting your Hard Rock restaurant in Lisbon Baixa Chiado, where we were attended by an employee whose name is Joanna (Jlo)
The employee has a very bad temper and is very unfriendly, rude and unpleasant and questioned us a lot about our private lives, at that moment we felt quite harassed. At the time when he had to collect the bill from us in a hurry and he did not even let us finish or enjoy the place.
We realized that she gave us the wrong money change with which she kept € 40, which was not for her tip, obviously with her bad attention we should not have left her anything.
She was very entertained and the food took a long time because of her and the dishes came dirty from her hands
We have been to a lot of hard rock and you guys have very good staff
We like Lisbon
We are immensely grateful that this lady named Jlo is required since we feel quite bad about what happened and that she also learns to speak English a little better, as an American company that is Hard Rock.

A large and very busy square with an imposing statue commemorating Portugals independence from Spain in 1640, with the bronze figures at the base depicting victory and freedom and the names of the most important battles. The square is flanked b a range of buildings mainly from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, after the earthquake. Bustling and busy - watch your pockets!

The park itself is excellent, very well located, very well signposted, has great parking spaces, however they play music at high volume throughout the night, which makes staying there almost unbearable! I went to pianist Richard Clayderman's concert yesterday and I have a Berlingo Van that I usually sleep in to save money as I live in Guimarães and not in Lisbon. I spent a terrible night at this establishment due to the loud and non-stop sound. It is a situation of extreme lack of respect towards users.

Was able to see this nonalcoholic statue from the balcony of our Airbnb. The square that surrounds it is nicely surrounded with small souvenir shops, high end retail stores, restaurants and other hotels. There’s a pic of how the square used to look inside a popular custard shop for reference of the many changes this location has gone through. Nice thing is there are two train stations near by as well as bus transportation and is a easy pick up and drop off location for taxis and Ubers.

This plaza is right near the Lisbon train station and in the middle of the busy street in the business area. The obelisk and the statue stand stately in the center. Very impressive! Across the street is the station for the funicular.
