Because of all of the positive reviews I got all excited when I was going to shop for souvenirs to give to my family on my vacation in Belgium. I wandered probably like 7 times in all the small streets in the area, then decided to go to get my souvenirs somewhere else (since I tought I was a bit... More

If you're looking for interesting, tasteful, and unusual mementoes of your visit to Lisbon, head straight for this shop. We came away with jewellery, rugs, mugs, fridge magnets, dolls and would have happily bought more. Exceptionally friendly and thoughtful service from the couple who run this place. They deserve your custom and to survive the onslaught of big business. Long... More

I loved this place. If only I didnt travel with hand luggage only I would buy much much more lovely portuguese stuff! Planning on returning with a big suitcase. The store offers incredible value for money if you consider the quality and uniqueness of these products - this is really one of a kind place. The owner is very nice... More

The owner makes ceramics on site. And they stem from tile traditions but reflect contemporary themes. Best experience shopping in Lisbon.

We stumbled onto this little store in Lisbon on our last afternoon in Portugal. After 3 weeks we still managed to find room in our suitcases for some lovely unique works of art. We found some fine stitchery, pottery, soaps, tiles, . We were able to visit with the potter that created many of the items. This shop is located... More

The store owners are friendly and welcoming. The gentleman makes some of the ceramics in the stores which are full of color and unique. There are hand painted doves, upcycled jewelry and unique art pieces. If you enjoy artistic pieces for yourself or a gift, this is a great place to go to.

We stumbled upon this shop during a morning walk and laughed at the name. Later, we stopped and discovered a super cool shop with unique items (a pleasant surprise as we were expecting made in China junk). We ended up getting some great gifts and went back a second time for more. A must stop!

Passing through the streets of Lisbon, I see a small electric car for rent. I've been thinking about renting one for a while. Small, and zippy.. quite smart for the crazy city traffic and small roads. I went into the shop to enquire about the car, and I saw these attractive little ornaments and decorative products of many shapes and... More

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighborhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
