Was in Park Bar tonight with 3 other foreign friends (I’m Portuguese myself) - initially I went to order drinks at the bar and that was fine, but then got seated on a different table by the staff and was told we had to order drinks at the bar and something to eat, according to Covid regulations. We said fine and so my tourist friends went to the bar to get us more refreshments but came back with the Manager behind them. We ordered 2 gin tonics, 2 glasses of wine and 2 deserts, 2 starters. We were then told that we needed to order 1 main dish/ 1 desert each if we wanted to stay. A portion of fries costs 4€, the same as a desert, and we were told we couldn’t get fries as that wasn’t a valid consumption if we wanted to stay. The manager was so rude and unfriendly- she was exactly the same person who served me the drinks I got like 20 minutes before this incident. She kicked us out at this point and even asked the waiter if we had paid for our refreshments. We got completely different treatments from her, to me as a Portuguese individual and to my friends. She guided us through numerous tables of people having only beverages and I told her she was being unfair and treating us wrong and she told me I had no business with what other were consuming in her establishment. Humiliating and quite unprofessional behavior.

The Park was a block away from our hotel, so we stopped by for a sunset drink. We lucked in to a great table with a fantastic view. Ordered a couple of drinks that were very good but not overly memorable. Though bars are supposed to close at 8pm during covid, a little before 8pm, the friendly waiter asked that we order food, and it seemed that was a way they were allowed to stay open later. Hadn't planned on eating, but were feeling hungry, so ordered some chicken wings. They were outstanding, among the best I've ever had. Fried, with a sauce that was slightly sweet but also had some heat. I'd go back for the view and the wings.

One of the worst experiences I’ve had in a bar - ever! We were asked by staff to queue and get a drink and then stay in the queue for a table (for which we did for ~20 minutes), as all tables were currently taken. After a long wait, a female member of staff came over and told us (and the rest of the queue) that we didn’t need to queue, and that we should simply just enter the bar area and stand with our drinks - so we did. When a table became free, we moved to it. A man (I believe the manager) rushed over and told us that to sit at a table, we needed to queue. We explained that we had been told by his colleague to stop queueing and enter the bar, and that we’d waited a long time, so it was our understanding that since the queue was asked to disperse, tables were now fair game. The male manager quickly became incredibly rude and confrontational - he didn’t listen to a word we said, simply kept saying close to our faces “I don’t care, you need to move”. He was immediately (and bizarrely) in a very argumentative state and we felt he made it pretty clear that we were not the sort of people that were given a table in a place like Park (i.e. not pretentious enough, it seems). We agreed and left the table anyway, however he kept looking at us, and as soon as we took our last sips of our €10 drinks, he came over and told us we could no longer stay in the bar just drinking, and therefore needed to leave. It was 8pm, and so he explained this was a COVID-19 related law, however it was pretty interesting to see that not a single other person in the bar was eating, just drinking, and no one else was asked to leave... All a very strange & aggressive service - would not recommend. This one member of staff really let the team down, and as a very jon-confrontational party, it felt very weird to enter such a confrontation with a member of staff at a so-called “hospitality” venue.

This place is pretty cool. Grungey entrance through a multi storey car park up lots of steps with graffiti everywhere, and the bar is on top of the car park. It was empty when we went due to it being lunchtime and just post lockdown. Still the views are good and the fresh cocktails/mocktails tasted amazing. We also had toasted cheese and spinach / pepper sandwich and the borata salad for lunch - I thought the food was delicious and surprisingly good for somewhere which is clearly more of a bar than cafe or restaurant. Hoping to go back for sunset to get the Park bar evening experience 👍

One has to know about this place to find it! And even then, attending a car park late at night to get to this elusive rooftop bar, feels bizarre! Persevere though as once you’re up there, the view is amazing and the bar is pretty cool. Good mojitos!
