Benfica Museum – Cosme Damião assembles the great themes of the history of Sport Lisboa e Benfica, of the city of Lisbon, and of the world. Visiting the Museum allows visitors to get to know and remember the trophies, the facts, and the names that helped Sport Lisboa e Benfica become a world-class sports club.

Founded in 2013, this cultural site took the name of one of the most important figures in the history of Sport Lisboa e Benfica: Cosme Damião, known as the founding father of the Club.

Across an area of about four hundred square metres, and three floors, the Museum displays around a thousand objects in 29 theme areas presenting high standards of interactivity and technology while telling the history of a country’s passion.

Benfica Museum – Cosme Damião also offers a great diversity of programmes, which provides new and enriching experiences for everyone who wishes to participate.

We did the stadium tour first, followed by the Museum. The stadium tour lasted about 45 minutes including visiting the away changing room, press room, a complete circular walk around the stadium both from the seating area and around the pitch. Seeing the three Eagles up close was memorable. Plenty of opportunity for photographs. The guide was multi linqual and... More

I was not expecting anything else than a boring afternoon of soccer memorabilia but I was surprised by the quality of the museum as well as the interactive activities. I recommend it to all soccer fans especially the Benfica ones...

Having visited Barcelona last year and been on the tour of the stadium and museum I did not think this would be better, but it was! The museum is beautifully laid out, easy to follow, information is in Portuguese and English. All interactive screens can have the language chosen. There is lots to read, so be prepared if you have... More

The museum and stadium tour is one of the best I have been on. The guide explains all in Portuguese then in English and it is an excellent 45 minutes before moving onto the museum where there are more trophies than I have ever seen for a range of sports. There is so much here to view and great care... More

We really appreciate your feedback, which is very important for us and an extra motivation for our work. It is interesting that you were amazed by the numbers of trophies in our Museum, but... did you know that SL Benfica has other 30 000 objects that are not in our exhibition? They are in a department of Benfica called Departamento... More

Great to see the history of a European great. Also great to visit with Benfica having just got their 35th title. But why no visit to the home dressing room on the stadium tour. This was a bit disappointing.

I paid 21 euros for my son & me to visit the stadium and museum tour. The stadium tour is excellent, and you even get the chance to visit the famous Benfica eagles on their pitchside perches. The museum is spectacular, with an amazing trophy display, and great history of SL Benfica, the city of Lisbon, and the world since... More
