Our tour of Jewish Lisbon with Marisa was excellent. She was enthusiastic to share her wealth of knowledge about Jewish life centuries ago to the present. Despite what may be advertised, there is not just one guide who can provide an exceptional tour of Jewish Lisbon. Travelers to Lisbon should know they have choices and Time Traveller’s Marisa should be their first choice.

I did a Jewish History tour with Time Travellers. Raquel, my guide, loves Lisbon and Portugal and it shows. The tour took us to various parts of Lisbon and the history was weaved into the storyline. Unfortunately, nothing tangible remains from the Jews existence in Portugal. The owner and guide Raquel is lovely and a very nice person to spend the day with.

I had a private tour with Raquel - easy to arrange via email, and not a problem that it was just me, and also not the 25th April. Had a fascinating 3 hours, with a nice break for coffee, and although I already knew a bit about the Revolution, I learnt so much more. Raquel also had some photos to show me of the actual day, told me about her family connections, and other places I might be interested in visiting. We ended in Carmo Square, so I then popped in to the Republican Guard building to see the place where the President had surrendered - still with bullet holes in one of the chairs and several of the books. Great stuff - so glad I did it, and well worth the money.

Raquel our guide was amazing, she was the most informative and most knowledgeable guide we have ever had. She showed us the Jewish history in Lisbon and if we were alone But so much to hear about and to learn!
Raquel was able to accommodate a large group of people speaking several different languages and she is very knowledgeable about the history of Lisbon.

The tour provided by this company was nothing less than excellent, in all respects! Our guide was 100% knowledgeable about every aspect of the topic and was extremely personable. She was able to address all our questions and immediately developed a wonderful rapport with us. She literally went over and above our expectations. We would highly recommend this company to anyone visiting Lisbon with an interest in the history of the city. Not only was the tour itself fantastic, but the level of service the company provided proceeding the actual day of the tour was totally unexpected! We have nothing but positive things to say about the “Time Travellers” and would definitely use them again on any subsequent visits to Lisbon.

A wonderful birthday present from my children - back to the days of the most peaceful and one of the most successful revolutions against dictatorship - 25 April 1974. Racquel used the excitement curve following the dozen of young officers planning and carrying out the revolution through lots of critical moments across key locations in Lisbon to lay out the economic and political perspectives in an extremely engaging and exciting tour.
Very well done, with great insight and knowledge and ability to discuss perspectives both to the past and the present. We all four - young as well as a little bit elder enjoyed it a lot and look forward to the next visit in Lisbon to learn about the Roman archaeological sites, the medieval Portugal, the colonial times, and the current post-crisis politics.

We met Raquel and she is not only warm in her welcome, but her in depth knowledge of Lisbon was impressive. We had a great time as she thrives on the fact that we had plenty of questions and shared experiences. Her background as an archeologist complimented by the fact that she also participated in many digs just gave you greater depth of knowledge you wouldn't experience anywhere else. Not at any stage did we feel fatigued. We loved it so much, we booked a second day with her. We did the Secrets of Lisbon and The Moorish Lisbon tours. We highly recommend this knowledgeable and engaging young woman for your next visit to Lisbon. Great value.

Inêz was knowledgeable and personable and willing to give us a tour at our pace and focused on our interests. She had lots of energy, very friendly and was intimate with the history of Lisbon. Our tour was private and therefore more easily geared to our specific interests. Do not miss taking this tour when you are in Lisbon. Marty

Inish our private guide was the most amazing, most informative, most passionate, and most knowledgeable guide we have ever had. She showed us Jewish history in Lisbon - where there are almost no visible signs of Jewish life. If we had tried on our own, we would have learned nothing - because there was nothing to see. But so much to hear about and to learn! Inish led us through Alfama and the streets of Lisbon for 3 hours. She was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend that anyone who wants to know about the extensive Jewish history in Lisbon contact Time Travellers and specifically ask for Inish!!!!

This was hands down the most fascinating and fantastic tour I have had. Ines has so much knowledge about the history of lisbon and the different places we visited, and had a wonderful way of telling it. The sites visited were also fascinating, and off the beaten tourist track. It was like being let in on lisbon's most treasured secrets, and gave a whole new perspective to the city. I highly recommend time travellers, especially for those that are seeking something intellectual, fun and beyond just checking off the typical list of the overly crowded, long queuing tourist sites to see.
