This suspension bridge across the Tagus River has the longest central span in Europe, at 1.5 miles. It also looks quite a bit like San Francisco's famed "Golden Gate Bridge," though this one was named after the revolution.

Often compared to the San Francisco "Golden Gate Bridge", this suspension bridge connects the city of Lisbon, capital of Portugal, to the municipality of Almada on the left (south) bank of the Tejo river. It is a beautiful site to behold and a can't miss...More

Yes it is just a bridge but it is a great symbol of Lisbon. Kids were amused just to see it and enjoyed the view so much. Just get as close as possible while visiting Belem.

It is a nice view, but nothing special. A big bridge which offers a nice view, but that's it, nothing more about it.

It's a bridge, OK. One of the longest suspension bridges in the World at that, but I fail to see what's so spectacular about it. Downtown Lisbon is much more interesting.

This is often compared to San Fransisco's Golden Gate Bridge due to it's look and it's the connection between Lisbon and Almada. This has two decks and 6 lanes for the cara in the top deck and 2 rail tracks in the lower deck. Looks...More

For most of people who sees this bridge for the first time remember about the Golden Gate Bridge however it was built by the company who built the San Francisco–Oakland Bay Bridge. It is nice to take some pictures and from the bridge you can...More

Being from San Francisco we had to see this look alike bridge in Lisbon. Its amazing to see how the architect mimicked his work in both places. We drove under the bridge and not through it. We got great views from various angles in the...More

It looks nice from the old town but you will need to cross it to go to the beach and it gives you chance for nice photos of lisbon during the few minute drive

I went by bus and got off by the bridge, so I didn't see where you go to cross the bridge because i was underneath it. You can't cross the bridge by foot. You can cross the river by ferry if you go to Cais do Sodré... More

It's pretty easy to reach there, just take a ferry from Cais da sodre to Cacilhas and from there take a bus, you get return tickets for ferry and bus, it's costs less than 5 Euro
