We certainly hit the jackpot when we went on a walking tour with Ame et Secrets - a perfect way to discover Lisbon. Our guide, Ludovic, showed us so many streets and facets of the city which we would never have seen otherwise. Alfama was a particularly fascinating section. Being in a group of just eight people meant that we... More

Inés was our guide. She was attentive, full of knowledge and passionate about the history, and architecture and various cultural influences which contribute to making Lisbon an "open air museum" today. She gave us many tips which guide books, often quickly outdated, cannot effectly provide. She opened our eyes to much detail we had previously overlooked. For example, the designs... More

A very pleasant moment spent with our guide Nicolas wandering about into the Alfama district. We appreciated his knowledge of places not noted within paper guides. We were there only 3 days, and this visit widely contributed to make this trip unforgettable. A good pair of shoes is required to stride along the tiny streets of this city ! Thank... More

Staying in Graca & Sao Vicente

Neighborhood Profile
Graca & Sao Vicente
You can be thankful that most common travel guides don't mention Graça and São Vicente that often. Part of Lisbon's historic center and "Old Town", they feel like independent villages in the capital's center, and more untouched than Alfama. Amazing views, restaurants and parks, as well as important monuments like the S. Vicente Church and the National Pantheon, make this a spectacular option for those looking for a more tranquil walk-around in the center of Lisbon. Graça has been the choice of many younger people over the past years, both nationals and expats, given the cozy feeling of the neighborhood and its hidden secrets.
