Really really good party boat !

As a Travel/incentive agency I booked the Ana Franco large ship for my 70 pax group. The ship is not the typical 'luxury' ship we usually book so I was a bit nervous about what the atmosphere was going to be like. In the end, the atmosphere was defined by something else: the party! One of the main criteria for us was to have a good sound system on board to deliver a good party vibe. On this point, Marlin Tours has delivered what we needed by hiring a very good DJ. It was quite an extraordinary boat trip as the fancy yachts and catamaran's in the water sailed to our 'not-so-luxurious' ship to enjoy our party music and atmosphere. Really good vibe. Even after docking in the harbour, when the bar was closed, the group did not want to leave the boat because of the atmosphere and the DJ just kept playing for an extra hour. Great! This boat is a really really good option if you are looking for a party boat. Ask for DJ Cosmos as he managed to get the group jumping on the beat on the front deck of the ship.

Great boat tour for a large group

We organised a 2h boat tour in the Lisbon bay, for a large group of 20+ people. Marlin Tours we’re accommodating, responsive and very pleasant to coordinate with. The boat they offered was large, clean and comfortable, and the service before and during our tour was superb. They offered several options to get the best arrangement for the type of the tour we wanted, and we’re extremely flexible. I would highly recommend Marlin Tours for large groups or any other tours.

An amazing experience

We went on a private sunset tour on Ana Franco for my birthday. I couldn't have made a better choice for the operator. From the reservation, taken care of with Marta, Catarina and Andreia, who were the sweetest most understanding team I have come across, to the crew, they were all as professional as anyone could ask for. The barbecue on-board was excellent, and the skipper (can't remember his name) who let all the kids have a feel of the helm. It was a 3 hour trip, but everyone on board would have been happy to continue for another 3 hours. I highly recomend Marlin tours and will repeat the experince. Also, the feedback from all the guests was extremely positive.

Phenomenal experience on the 4-hour private boat tour!

We had a wonderful time on a 4-hour private sailing boat. The family who took us out were extremely friendly, made us feel very welcome and even through in some complimentary snacks which were included with the open bar package we purchased. I would highly recommend this activity if you're visiting Lisbon for the first time as it's a lovely way to see the city and enjoy the sunshine!

Brilliant sunset tour

We thoroughly enjoyed the calm, relaxing catamaran cruise between 5 and 7pm.
It was a great way to get closer to some of Lisbon’s most famous landmarks (Cristo Rei, April 25th bridge, Belem tower) . Our skipper was great and informative and the whole thing was a real highlight of our trip.

A boat ride with music and a drink. (no turistic guide talk)

It was a very nice trip through the coast of Lisbon, we didn’t get any info or history about the things that we saw. It was just music and a glass of wine or a soft drink. They have a mini bar onboard for you to purchase more drinks if you want them. If you want to chill and talk to your friends or family while your ride a boat. This is for you.

An original experience i recommend

We booked 3 places the day before experience. We found the dock easily, not so far from center of Lisboa as Belem and not so soon in the evening like for others tours.
The captain and his son welcomed us warmly and took care about our comfort all along the trip. The offered us some wine and beers, and gave some local advices.
Unfortunately the sunset was not visible because of cloudy weather, but it was a nice experience to have another look at Lisboa !

Don't be late.

Well the directions said to meet at the "office" of which they don't even have an office. Of our two nights in Lisbon we wasted this one because after 10 minutes of asking everyone at the Marlin Boat marina where this office was we finally found out that there was no office and that they left without us by this time it was only 7:10. Clearly they do not believe in customer service seeing how we paid $100 for this trip and didn't even get to experience it because they didn't bother to call. Do not understand how someone feels that this is a good idea to do to a customer who has already paid. Extremely disappointed. They should really take at least one class in hospitality to actually learn how to treat a customer. HIGHLY DO NOT recommend. Use a company that values your time and money.

No show from Marlin and no support from Expedia!!

I had seen previous reviews that suggested the tour was unreliable but thought we would give it a go anyway. With this in mind I decided we should book through an intermediary rather than direct. The hope was that this would provide some support and assistance. Don't believe it we were still all on our own. We arrived for the tour at the designated meeting point shown on the Expedia voucher some 45 minutes before the scheduled departure time. "Please meet your guide at Doca de Santo Amaro." We sat and had a glass of wine comfortable with the fact that we were in the correct location well in advance of the time. At the appointed time we went to the entrance to the doc, which has been described by a few on TripAdvisor, but nobody showed up. I was starting to get concerned so tried to call the contact numbers given for Marlin cruises. Both numbers came up as not obtainable. I then decided to ring Expedia. After going through a lengthy call tree, while being charged a premium rate!, I did get to a call handler at a call centre. A very pleasant lady talked to me but offered no immediate assistance whatsoever. All she could tell me was that my issue would be raised to the highest level in Expedia and I would receive a response within 48 hours. Needless to say we are back in the UK from our holiday, 7 days have passed sine the no show, and still nor response or even an acknowledgement from Expedia. I have spent many thousands over the years with Expedia and never had a reason to complain before. This situation demonstrates the poor quality of the service and I shall not be using them again. I still don't know if the fault lies with Marlin Cruises or Expedia but would suggest if you are going on this trip try contacting Marlin directly and not handing over any money until they turn up.

UNABLE TO FIND BOAT - MISSED TOUR

My wife and I - highly educated and experienced tourists - arrived at Doca de Alcantara by Taxi at 18.37 i.e. 23 minutes before the tour start. I don't want to relive the next 45 minutes!
Two pairs of policemen, several local bar and restaurant owners and a dock guard all failed to identify the boarding point. On reflection we over trusted the "balloon" on a Google map which we blew up and took with us... The previous Marlin boarding point was still clearly marked - we could actually see this! - and I would urge Marlin Boat Tours urgently to produce a map for potential guests. Until then beware!
