I was fortunate, prior to retirement, to be involved with making travel arrangements for and often traveling with top leaders in business and entertainment. The travel companies that were used and the guides that were assigned had to be, as in Tina Turner's song, "Simply the Best". Having just returned from a personal 10-day tour of Portugal with my wife arranged by Portugal Premium Tours (PPT) I would definitely give them a "Simply the Best" designation. Starting with PPT's UNESCO World Heritage itinerary we worked with Gabriela (she was great) to design a personalized program that fit our interests. Based on reviews I requested Diogo as our guide. While I can't comment on all of PPT's guides (they all get good reviews), I can say that Diogo himself deserves a "Simply the Best" designation. Diogo has the personality, in-depth knowledge of Portugal, and logistical skills that you look for in someone you will be spending two, seven or even ten days with. Diogo has interpersonal instincts that cannot be taught. We are in our seventies and Diogo could sense when we were good to go or when we needed a break. He would work with us to adjust our itinerary as needed. Portugal is a wonderful destination - Diogo made it a wonderful visit. The highest compliment I can give is that I would not hesitate to recommend PPT to any couple, family, group or representative of a VIP if Diogo were to be their guide.

After much research we contracted with Portugal Premium Tours for a 13 day private tour and couldn’t be happier with our trip through Portugal. Gabriela was such a great asset helping us develop an itinerary & working through logistics over several months. She was available for Zoom calls & was very responsive to our many questions & concerns. She was a dream to work with. We were very fortunate to have a fantastic tour guide for the entire trip, Diogo C. His knowledge of Portuguese history is phenomenal. His professionalism, thoughtfulness & passion is unmatched. He was very flexible & willingly made last minute scheduling changes. He deftly answered all our questions, was caring, entertaining & has a great ability to describe historical events with compassion. Needless to say, Portugal Premium Tours has our highest recommendation. Thank you Diogo & Gabriela for a most amazing memorable trip!

There are so many reviews for this fantastic company that tell you what a wonderful experience they had. I do not think any one of them has adequacy let you know what a great company Premium is. From the initial contact with them your realize that you have hit the jackpot. Then they put together an itinerary for you and then when you accept that itinerary they follow through with every promise they have made 150%. I can share with you our six day program that we did with them in Porto and Lisbon but each and everyone of you has to look at their recommendations and decide what you want to see and do. After you have done that you will find that they go overboard to make sure you have a perfect journey. I would be remise if I did not mention Filipa our guide. As with all the other parties that we were in contact with the company she was FANTASTIC.

My good friend and I visited Portugal for the first time. Availing of the services of Premium Tours was the best decision we've made. We did a 5 days road trip from Lisbon to Porto and the Algarve. Each place we visited was just amazing. Everything went perfectly well. Bernardo, our guide did a very good job of taking good care of us, making sure we experience a truly authentic Portuguese experience. What made this trip extra special was celebrating my birthday in Lagos, the town that captured my heart. Not only we stayed at very nice boutique hotels, the warmth and sincerity of the people, made our experience more beautiful..
Premium Tours, especially, Bernardo set the bar high for us on Private tours. Won't hesitate avail of their services when we come back

We just returned from an amazing family trip in Portugal. Portugal Premium Tours was incredible. From the planning stage, to late additions to the itinerary, they were terrific! They found us the most incredible rural resort, provided us with the most lovely, knowledgeable guide and driver (ask for Herlander!), and created a packed, thoughtful itinerary that didn’t feel rushed or overwhelming and fulfilled the wishes of both parents and teens—cultural visits, Michelin restaurants, wine tours, e-bike tours, surfing, stand up paddle boarding, cooking class, city tours, sunset boat tour, a pottery workshop, and plenty of down time to read, nap, and relax by the pool. We had a blast!

My husband and I had a fabulous “Private 7 days best of Portugal”
tour with Premium Portugal Tours in May. They provided a long distance car transfer from Seville to Lisbon with a stop at the Roman ruins in Evora before embarking on the grand tour which included four nights in Lisbon and three nights in Porto.
Carlos was our local guide in Lisbon and David our local guide in Porto, driving us to and guiding us through sites, and walks through the cities. Each is passionate about their city and country and taught us about the sites, the culture, history and answered the many questions we asked. They were very thoughtful about adjusting to our needs and a delight. We felt as if we were traveling with good friends.
Every bit of Liliana’s planning and communication is superb. She adjusted the tour when needed. I highly recommend Premium Portugal tours. They set a high bar for my expectations for future trips.

Three friends and I were the beneficiaries of the excellent travel services of Portugal Premium Tours. Our agent Gabriella was knowledgeable and very willing to accommodate our personal interests and schedule. Every aspect of the 11 day trip including stays in 3 locations, dinner reservations, drivers went smoothly.
The key to our excellent experience, however, was our guide, Carlos Godinho.
An enthusiastic spirit, with an extensive knowledge of history, warm empathic manner, on top of every detail, great sense of humor, generous with his time. After all the gorgeous views, the sumptuous tiles, lovely palaces and evocative monasteries, we all agreed our Portuguese lunches with Carlos in out of the way places were the highlight of a wonderful trip.

Our vacation to Portugal was a dream. Right from the get go João, our tour guide in Lisbon and Coumbra, was great. He was punctual, respectful, approachable and knowledgeable. His personal skills made us feel we were touring with a friend sharing personal stories and listening to ours. His choices for places to eat took us in an unexpected gastronomical tour. All the food was AMAZING.
Our tour guide in Porto, Francisco Rodrigues, was also wonderful. His young energy was contagious and he was also punctual, respectful and very knowledgeable. He made our trip to the Douro valley a magical experience. His choices for restaurants were also to die for.

We had a fantastic trip to Portugal thanks to the team at Portugal Premium Tours. Joana helped us with planning our trip to mainland Portugal and the Azores. Based on our interests she came up with a trip that covered all our wishes, from city life to visiting small villages and beautiful natural areas. Our tour guides, Filipa (mainland) and Rui (Azores) provided a great experience. They shared their extensive knowledge of history and culture of the area and their personal touches and recommendations were spot on. They were always on time with a big smile and were flexible with schedules when the weather did not cooperate. We highly recommend this company for your next trip Portugal.

Neal and I took a couples trip to Portugal. We were blessed to have been hooked up with Premium our entire 10 day stay. They were our transportation, guides and full service group on the ground. They are a first rate company. Our guides were exceptional. They got to know who we were and created each day very personalized. Our Boutique hotel choices were in prime locations. We loved Portugal along with spending time with the local guides and eating specialties around each corner we explored. Pepe really ensured we were well taken care of throughout our stay in Porto. His knowledge and personality “plus” made our vacation a 10 on a scale of 1-10. They are to be commended for being the BEST!!! Thank you, Nancy🌸

Hi, our trip with Premium Tours included the cork forest, a cork factory,Evora, a winery and the oldest standing stones in Europe. It was fabulous. We did our own day trip to Sintra by train. Although it was mid-October, the town was packed. Lovely town but touristy. We toured the National Palace and took a cab ride to view the tri-colored palace. If we were to go back I think we would tour the estate with the (I think Knights of Columbus) winding staircase and grotto. Looked to be very interesting. If you go to Sintra, the walk from the train station to th National Palace is very nice. Take the little side jaunt down the stairs through the gardens parallel to the road. It was full of hummingbirds when we were there. Enjoy Lisbon...and be sure to go to the tile museum. Skip a trip in the San Jacinto elevador... not worth the wait. But do admire its architecture!

Ola, We are traveling to Portugal with friends with arrival on Oct. 12, 2019 and departure on October 19. We were hoping to arrange a tour to the cork forest and a cork factory in the Evora vicinity. Are you offering tours on October 13, 14 or 15? We had planned to leave Lisbon for Porto on October 16 with a return to Lisbon on the 18th but I suppose we could go to Porto earlier in the week and then be back in Lisbon for the 17th and 18th. Quick highlight of things to do (and NOT do) in Portugal -
Pena Palace in Sintra - get a guide and purchase tickets prior to going so you don't have to wait in a long que
You must try Port somewhere. It was excellent!
When we went to Sintra our guide took us to a port tasting.
Favorite thing in Lisbon - Lisbon Street Art Tour - fabulous but be prepared to walk
train from Lisbon to Cascais - lovely shops and cute restaurants
Batalha - an amazing work of art in the form of a monastery
Fatima - beautiful church worth the drive to see it
You can see both Batalha and Fatima in one day with a guide.
train to Porto; it's a easy walk-able city; a couple of churches (Sao Francisco -church of gold, not so gold, but still worth seeing) , shops and restaurants along the river
I'd BYPASS the famous Livaria Lello book store (you pay to go in and cannot move because it is so crowed; NOT worth the effort)
Disappointed in the Museu Calouste Gulbenkian - not much there plus a 20 minute taxi ride to/from Porto
Evora - you must go if only to see the Bones Chapel! you can also get with a good tour guide (Portugal premium was great) and have a wine tasting and see a cork factory on the way to Evora
Find a restaurant off the main square and you'll be very happy!
I would NOT go to Obidos as I found it crowed with mostly cheap touristy stores and really not that pretty or white
Avoid the trolly (cable cars) as they are a haven for pick pockets!
A tuk tuk should be taken if for no other reason than to say you've been in a tuk tuk and they can get you around Lisbon quickly and pretty inexpensively
A night of Fado should be enjoyed.
For something not so touristy and quite good try the Aquarium in Lisbon. It's a bit of a taxi ride out but worth it.
