I live nearby and I absolutely love this place. It’s my Go To for a dose of nature, peace and quiet and beauty. It is sadly neglected in places and needs a lot of money and effort spending on it (I don’t know why) but for me this makes it even more atmospheric and special.

Spotted this park accidentally, couldn't believe how gorgeous it is. Amazing grounds with a bit abandoned buildings. Really worth a visit

Came across when walking in this area of Lisbon. A pleasant garden but nothing out of the ordinary. Was home to lots of stray cats.

This garden is a quiet spot in busy Lisboa. It’s not far away from Estrela, Cemitério dos Prazeres and the train station of Alcântara-Terra. The garden is an example of the gentle neglect that you can sometimes see in Lisboa. Everything is still nice buy the decay is visible. There are no toilets and no kiosk but besides that only peace and quiet.

It's true that there's an air of times past here - abandoned buildings, broken paths, wanting for maintenance. But there's also an air of tranquility and calm - whilst the drum of car traffic can always be heard in the distance, the cats and birds seem unperturbed by it - they wander and fly around easily within extensive gardens that are obviously their home. There are no facilities there, not even a coffee stand, but it's a really nice place to picnic under the old trees if it's hot, or on open grasses if it isn't.

Amazing place to go for a walk. Lots of interaction with ducks and peafowls.
It was quite a hot day when I went there so I recommend bringing some water (there is a refill spot close to the entrance).

Found this by accident and so glad I did. What a haven. As soon as I got in I regretted paying 5 euros for the botanical gardens in the centrem this is so much better. It's wild and beautiful and got an unkept andandoned feel to it, which is what makes it beautiful. The plants grow wildly and huge. For a second you can forget you are in the city.

Free toilets other end of the park, but as it's a public park and pretty unkept no cafes or food/drink.lots of chickens, cats and peacocks running around. A lovely place to chill away from chaos if the city.

I live in Lisboa, estrela district and I never took the time to visit it. Slightly abandoned, I guess due to lack of money, this is a like the silence of a church when you enter.
It has a great variety of vegetation and the abandoned buildings provide the charm of a glorious past.

What a beautiful, interesting little park! Off the beaten track, loads of ducks, geese, chickens, and pea-fowl. The cactus garden area was where the chickens were plotting to take over the world lol. So glad we happened upon it,

We do a lot of wandering around when we travel which led us to this place. Even though the park was open and had people in it, the structures fit the bill for my love of the abandoned. Very cool place to explore having no knowledge of the history until we got back to our hotel later that night.
