Wow - this was great!

I debated whether or not to do this because it was so expensive - 150 Euros - and I thought instead that I might take the Hop-on-and-off bus instead, but in the end I decided to... read more

I debated whether or not to do this because it was so expensive - 150 Euros - and I thought instead that I might take the Hop-on-and-off bus instead, but in the end I decided to give it a go, and am I ever glad that I did. It compares to nothing I have done before. I had just arrived... More

My family recently took a Lisbon by night tour. It was the highlight of our trip to Lisbon. Daniel shared so much history with us during our tour and really helped us understand many of the places we visited. One of the best things about the evening ride is that you visit many of the spots when there aren't many... More

George our driver met us from our cruise ship with a beautiful blue and cream Ural bike and sidecar. Once I had mastered getting into the sidecar ( a bit tricky but fun) we set off for a comprehensive tour of Lisbon. The bike drew lots of envious glances from people we passed and I didn't stop smiling the whole... More

I opted to do this for full day on my first day in Lisbon. Daniel, the business owner, was excellent – a first rate historian on his City and its fascinating past, and an excellent bike driver, navigating and gear changing on the narrow hilly cobblestone streets. I saw so much of the city and learned much from Daniel. The... More

This was a surprise honeymoon present for my wife and I in Lisbon. We had an amazing guide in George who met us at our apartment with open face motorcycle helmets. Having arrived the night before, it was a perfect way to see all the sites in the city including all of the best viewpoints, churches and monasteries. The bike... More

When asking friends what is a must when visiting Lisbon on a short break away, Sintra and visit out along the coast was mentioned a number of times. A quick google and sure enough, a trip had to be arranged. Did not want to go by large tour bus, did not have enough time for independent trip. Looking around came... More

Daniel was right there at the port waiting patiently for us, so very convenient and stress-free! Even though our disembarkment was delayed, he was gracious and ensured we experienced the full tour. And what a tour it was! He not only showed us the sites of Lisbon but went into detail regarding the historical importance of each location. Extremely informative!... More

Staying in Castelo, Alfama & Mouraria

Neighborhood Profile
Castelo, Alfama & Mouraria
Explore narrow streets and alleyways, small cafes and, of course, the internationally acclaimed Fado music. The earth-shattering Great Earthquake of 1755 destroyed most of the city but the contiguous neighborhoods of Mouraria, Castelo and Alfama remained standing to this day. These neighborhoods represent Lisbon at its historical best. The cool breeze of the Tagus river will take you up the hills to the sound of Fado, where you'll discover the best "tascas," eat delicious fresh fish and drink great wines. Discover hidden viewpoints and ancient traces of other civilizational ruins in the heart of the Portuguese capital. These are centuries-old neighborhoods that will welcome you to the very best of old Lisbon culture.
