Neighborhood: Parque das Nações
This neighborhood was built up at the end of the 1990s mostly because of the Expo '98. The pavilions and structures that once were the home of all the Expo's attractions and exhibits are still culturally and artistically significant. In Parque das Nações you'll explore conference and concert pavilions, a shopping center, trendy restaurants and an enjoyable cable car ride you can't miss out on. On top of this, the amazing Lisbon Oceanarium (one of the most spectacular things you'll ever see in the city) will take your breath away: its respect and will to preserve natural wildlife is uncanny. Easily accessible by metro, bus or taxi from the city center, Parque das Nações is highly recommended for anyone who'll spend more than 3 days in the Portuguese capital.

- Ourania T10 contributionsI wasn’t that amazed by this shop. I expected something more traditional or Portuguese style. It’s a closed big shop with famous food chains that you can find in the city also, with same prices just all together. Nothing special!Visited July 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten July 27, 2024
- claudio dViterbo, Italy45,191 contributionsBuilt at the same time as the other structures of Expo 98 (but inaugurated in 1999), it is obviously a large multi-storey shopping center (196 shops, of which 50 restaurants, on 50,000 m2, as well as 6 cinemas and a wellness centre), but it is not just this: what is striking is the modern structure, in line with everything else in the Parco delle Nazioni, and its elegance. You can find almost everything and even when it comes to eating you are spoiled for choice, as well as the pleasure of being in a very pleasant environment. It can be accessed directly from Oriente station, without leaving it (or if you leave the entrance you will find it right in front, on the other side of Avenida Dom João II); furthermore, from the shopping center you pass directly into the Parco delle Nazioni, just exit on the opposite side from the station and it can therefore rightly be considered the worthy gateway to the latter.Visited April 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten May 16, 2024
- 1957Ottawa, Canada989 contributionsWe just stepped out of the train station, which is in front of this huge shopping centre.. we had extra time so we decided to visit. First, it was open on a Sunday,..it has 4 floors , it has all fancy shops + stores ..restaurants, eateries, a food court..it even has an Apple Store..a fancy wine tasting with food restaurant…You also find many places where you can plug your electronics and get them charged…Escalators and elevators are found…There is cinemas , also…At the time we went ..all the mall was decorated for Christmas which was very nice. Also to be noted , the restrooms were mediocre clean…Visited November 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten November 10, 2024
- AlvaroMadrid, Spain16 contributionsIt is a shopping center that has the best-known clothing stores. It is located above the Oriente metro station and has access to a walk called Rua da Pimenta where there are several restaurants to eat and where the MEO Arena is located, a hall for concerts. It is A quiet area where you can spend the day away from the crowds of the center of Lisbon, close to the Lisbon Oceanarium and a cable car that runs along the coast.Visited April 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten April 13, 2024
- Lilac G362 contributionsThis place is huge. I went there a lot of times, and got frequently mixed up about which exit would lead me to the metro. I visited C&A and I was disappointed by the new jeans, but bought very good sets of socks; great quality in very good price. There is a big supermarket, the Continente, where I remembered the “pasteis de nata” were sold in dozens. Unfortunately there weren't any not on the first day, not on the last, which made a bad impression as this is their national delicacy. It was a big surprise to see endless queues, yet typical for this kind of store, where you can find everything. Mac Donald's is situated next to the many restaurants, and that floor is so big that even when it is crowded there is always a place to sit. There are many visitors in this mall because apart from the direct connection to the metro and the railway, it houses electronic games for youngsters, not to forget the proximity to the airport. There is a big selection of stores, more or less the same you can find in big malls in every country. The toilets are clean, the place is very well looked after, and I would rate it a positive experience.Visited October 2023Traveled soloWritten May 12, 2024
- Always BikerPotes, Spain534 contributionsFantastic Lisbon Shopping Center The best Clean, spacious, shops everywhere and restaurants with very good prices to enjoy its cuisine. It's a shame, the flood of water... but, excellent shopping center.Visited March 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten March 28, 2024
- Daniel GabiBern, Switzerland214 contributionsThe center is located on the way to the Oceanário and various venues in this district, right next to the train station and the metro station that also leads to the airport. The place is thus also a place for seeing and being seen. It has long opening hours and a large parking garage.Visited February 2025Traveled with familyWritten March 6, 2025

We stayed at Moxy Lisboa, which is close to Oriente station, for just one night. When we arrived at 10:30 pm, the receptionist was adamant that the only restaurant was the hotel's own. We decided to walk a little and to our surprise this wonderful shopping mall, nearby, is open until midnight. We were able to have dinner and even walk around a bit. A find!

I went to the mall because I was invited to go dancing. Yes at the mall. On the third floor by the food court, there are glass doors leading out to the patio, where It was amazing to watch the wonderful dancers and participate. Thursdays and Fridays is music and dancing. A fun thing to do at this mall. There is a beautiful large artwork located near the front of the mall

I came to see the Oriental Station to which the shopping mall is connected to presenting the usual array of international and local brands. It is light and airy in design with a large food court on top floor. The whole recently built neighborhood is quite far away from city center.

Taking the metro or even the bus to the “Oriente” stop will get you to this mall. If you have a car, there is an extensive garage to one end.
We walked through the mall to get to “Parque das Nacoes” and went north along the promenade to get to Lisbon’s famous aquarium.
One is struck immediately about how modern this mall looks. There are three floors filled with 160 stores. Some are from the USA and some are not. If you want to reach an Apple Store, it is called here the “iStore.” The reviews for it, though, are subpar.
At one end is a huge food court. There are all types of kiosks selling not only Portuguese food, but Chinese, vegetarian and there is even a KFC. At lunch time it is extremely crowded. You will also notice that many of these vendors have silverware and ceramic bowls for their patrons. You come here to really enjoy your meal.
We did find the bathrooms to be inviting, large and clean. Seeing the Vasco da Gama Mall was fun and exciting. One can spend an hour or a half a day at this mall.

Nobody spoke English nor were they very friendly. Wanted a haircut and a blow dry , didn’t feel confident that my hairdresser knew what I wanted or understood me.
Construction going on in the roof making something that should be relaxing quite unpleasant.
Needless to say, I grabbed my things and walked out.
Also, €40 for a wash, cut, and dry... a bit steep.

I did not expect to see such large crowds as shopping malls like this are no longer busy in the US. But on a Sunday there were lots of people shopping, buying, and especially eating. Huge grocery store on the lower level. I bought some clothes. Some nice casual eating places with tables outside. Across the street from the big Oriente train station.

If you plan to visit Parque das Nacoes, come to visit Vasco de Gamma Mall too.
The mall can be accessed by metro red line, bus or train. We came here on Thursday 3 weeks ago and it was very busy.
There are over 150 stores and a food court. The supermarket Continente is on the ground level.

Had a decent lunch in the food court here on the day we visited the aquarium. Shops not really to my taste but others may find them great - to be fair we weren’t really there to shop - not a priority for us on a short break. Toilets weren’t very clean or well maintained.

Ended up here on our last day in Lisbon but it was quite disappointing. There was a decent selection of shops but nothing really worth splurging on. The centre looks a bit dated and could do with a refurb. Best thing was going to the hyper market on the ground floor.

I rarely write reviews about shopping malls.
However, this one in the modern northeastern suburb "Nations Park" is an exemption.
It's a very modern shopping mall, set in a likewise district built for the 1998 World expo.
We went there after the Lisboa Oceanario visit and cable car ride.
Plenty of shops with very competitive prices (Portugal is cheaper than other EU countries anyway) and an excellent food court with huge choices and bargain prices.
