Cute little tram
Feb 2021 • Solo
What a cute little tram! I was surprised to find it actually running now, right on schedule, even though there's a new lockdown and there are barely any people on the streets, both tourist or locals...

A beautiful street n Lisbon with a characteristic view
Dec 2019
Elevador da Bica was inaugurated on June 28, 1892. It connects Sao Paulo street and Largo do Calhariz along Duarte Belo Bica street. Today it is a tourist attraction in Lisbon. An interesting and situated in a very nice place among typical Lisbon houses. Take the opportunity to take pictures on this street, which is one of the most photographed streetsin Lisbon . Very authentic and enjoyable. You can ride with a day ticket for transport.

Try elavador Gloria instead
Aug 2020
Give this one a miss, not worth the money being packed into a small tram with very rude and grumpy driver and then dropped off in drug dealer central! Better to wander the streets to see the barrio or if you want to try an elavodor, Gloria is a short walk away with a nicer more spacious tram and great street art to enjoy out the window!

We didn't ride but visited for pictures....
Jan 2020
We walked to the hill for some classic pictures. The trams go up/down every 15 minutes and was nice to see them along with getting some pictures.
Although, the trams were covered in graffiti which was a shame and the area was quite dirty.

We took this funicular straight up to the top of the hill. Only took a couple of minutes, our feet were so happy. It is just 1 car with 3 compartments. The cost was 3.80 pp which includes a return trip.

Save Your Energy

Not far from Timeout Market, we took this funicular up to the hill. Covered by Lisbon Card or Viva Day Pass. It saves your legs from climbing the hill.

Save your legs

Save your legs, while visiting Lisbon, and use the funiculars up the hills, well worth considering. Recommended.

Interesting steep but short ride that cost 3.80 euro per person
Oct 2019
We only tried it for experience of it and tiredness. The driver who topped up our travel card was miserable maybe due to tiredness. It departs at the bottom every 15 minutes. We were sat in the middle, should have chosen the front or rear end to have a better view. It was nighttime when we tried it. When we got to the top both sides are full of people having a good time outside the pub and sat on the footpaths. There are drug dealers at the top. I was even offered but politely declined; it was an unpleasant experience that made me question whether that area is safe at all. If you want to take a good photo for your instagram, go there early in the morning when it is less busy but sadly the trash left during night time are also very visible.

Saved my legs!

Well worth taking the funicular up the hill, saving your legs. We went at teatime and it wasn’t crowded. We also treated ourselves to a trip back down too!
