The gps system is only a voice talking, not like a gps in a car with a screen. The chozen route was nice (Belem tour) although there were a lot of road constructions and the voice just stops speaking. The go cars are really fun!

It was a perfect organized event with great fun. It gave the possibility of seeing the greater part of the city. The day after the same organization organized a bus tour outside the city, very well and accompanied with an excellent guide. So we are very positive on this organisation.

A unique way to explore the city. The built in GPS gives directions and commentary. The GPS stops immediately when you leave the planned route. The staff are very helpful and friendly, even providing an escort when totally lost!

We booked a Gocar for a day for the un-escorted tour. The staff were very friendly and helpful and fully explained the system and sat-nav. We did the Alfama route to start with which was very interesting. You have to turn the sat-nav up loud to hear it as you rattle over the cobbles, but it was easy to understand.... More

We booked the segway and were upsold to do the GoCar as well. When we first arrived our credit card wasn't working with their system (Australian card - no issues anywhere else) so we had to find an ATM to pay in cash. It ended up just being the two of us and the guide, which was good. The guide... More

Dear TrippinMonkey, We are sorry to hear that your experience with the Gocar was not satisfying. We are implementing some updates on our GPS's and your feedback is very important so we can continue to improve and offer a better service. As for the guide not having a first aid kit with him on the tour is not normal and... More

First off they aren't navigated with GPS instead they give you a laminated map of the city and expect you to know where you're going. We ended up being lost for the entire day and only saw (by accident )one of the locations we were looking for... Also the roads are cobblestone which is cool, but not in a go... More

Dear ryanoW5942FC, Thank you for taking the time and providing feedback regarding your experience. Before you start the tour there is a video briefing that explains everything about the Gocar and the service that is about to be provided. On this video we mention a phone number which is printed on every car, on which you can always reach the... More

I had the privilege to be part of the team of Gocar for more than a year. It's a group of very professional, kind and fun people. I totally suggest to try their activities by Gocar, Segway and bicycles. I had a great time with them!

As part of a team-building exercise our group started the day with a GoCar and Segway Tour Combo. This being our first time in Lisbon, this was a unique way to be introduced to the city center and surrounding neighborhoods. Each leg of the tour began with a staff-guided introduction for how to operate our wheels correctly and safely. Never... More

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighborhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
