We arrived in Lisbon after some 26 hours travelling to get there our driver was there to greet us as we came from the baggage collection, loaded us and delivered us to our hotel with great conversation along the way, very impressed.
I went online less than 24 hours before we needed the ride to the airport. Our hotel advertised transportation to the airport which is about 10 miles away. When we inquired about their transportation, we were told 50 Euros! I went online to Viator.com and...More
Three of us took this tour to Sintra. I was thinking of just taking the train and using the bus to get to the sites. I decided it might be easier to have someone drive us around. I am so glad we did. Ruy was...More
A highly recommended way of seeing Sintra, especially as the terrain is very steep when going from castle to palace, and there is only restricted parking nearby. Our driver for the private tour was Luis. He dropped us off as close as possible to the...More

I've been living in Lisbon for almost 6 months and really glad I round Avenidas. They are really professional and have a great support system. If you need to get around and are not a fan of the alternatives you should give them a try!

Chiado & Carmo
The traditionally trendy "Chiado" (literally, "squeak", the nickname of a 16th century poet) offers plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars where you can stop for a cafe or cocktail, after exploring its streets, shops, art galleries, theaters, museums and viewpoints. It's also the home to the statue of the famous statue of portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa, having is usual espresso at "A Brasileira" as he used
to. You can also enjoy breathtaking views of Lisbon from the Elevador de Santa Justa or the Carmo Convent, for example. A commercial neighborhood at its core, especially for its Garrett and Carmo streets, Chiado is to this day a mandatory visit in Lisbon.
