Neighborhood: Chiado & Carmo
The traditionally trendy "Chiado" (literally, "squeak", the nickname of a 16th century poet) offers plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars where you can stop for a cafe or cocktail, after exploring its streets, shops, art galleries, theaters, museums and viewpoints. It's also the home to the statue of the famous statue of portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa, having is usual espresso at "A Brasileira" as he used to. You can also enjoy breathtaking views of Lisbon from the Elevador de Santa Justa or the Carmo Convent, for example. A commercial neighborhood at its core, especially for its Garrett and Carmo streets, Chiado is to this day a mandatory visit in Lisbon.
How to get there

10 stars out of 5! Beautiful ceramics in all possible variations, colors and quality resp. price. Outstanding client service and easy shipping to Germany. Absolutely recommended!

Not sure why others are so thrilled. A lot of the ceramics are plain - not the hand painted kind that I was searching for. It's okay but see my other reviews if you are looking for great hand painted options in Lisbon.

We visited this shop and only wish that we had driven. So we bought less and then the week following we took the car to the other location in Oeiras - I don't like driving in Lisbon. I actually prefer the second location - it's somehow more manageable...I say so as their is a lot of different items to chose from and it was easier to lay everything out on the floor. The prices vary from a low euro amount per kg...these items are slightly irregular...to full price for new designs and perfect items.

I was trying to get inside and a small woman with brown hair was extremely rude to me and told me to wait outside even though three people left the shop. It’s their loss since I spent close to a thousand euros on ceramics this week. Do not go here if you want friendly service!

We spent the day looking for pottery in Lisbon and paid handsomely for some pieces, before we sauntered in there only to find everything (and nicer) at a better price, even than the places in the poorer part of town. Takes credit cards (no Amex but nowhere in Portugal seems to) which is a bonus. Not the most cheerful employees but great quality, selection and price.

Very well priced ceramic produced in Portugal. Besides ceramic they also sell "tábua de madeira", the wooden plates to cut bread or serve cheese on, the reason why I entered this store. Although the location of the shop is in the touristic part of Lisbon, expect non-touristic prices. Definitely worth stopping by if you are in the neighborhood.

This shop was amazing, such fabulous pottery and so cheap! I bought four plates and a bowl for €7.50 and I could have filled my suitcase with more! One of my favourite places to visit in Lisbon!

What a find! Walked by here, popped in and the variety and colors are astounding. I had such a difficult time deciding. I bought 3 pieces and it came to 13 euros. Are you kidding me? I couldn't stop thinking about this store so came back the next day and got 4 more pieces. Many are priced by the kilo. The glazes are absolutely beautiful. We had spent a month traveling and this was THE place. Glad it was at the end of our trip. So what if my backpack was heavy. I have gorgeous reminders of our trip. So worth it.

For those pottery lovers, it is a must! Pottery can be bought by the kilo! Some second pieces at discounted price! Just opposite the Museum of Contemporary arts!
