This is a very busy square. We stayed at a hotel in Figueira Square overlooking the Statue, making it a useful landmark. The statue is nice enough. The square is busy and there is a lot of public transport access.

This is quite a busy square. Not very impressive, with a statue of D. Joao I who was one of the kings of Portugal. When we were there we found a small food market, where we had lunched and bought a good Portuguese cheese to...More

This is a rather ordinary statue, located in the somehow boring Figueira‬ square. You can easily miss this statue upon walking past the square.

An equestrian statue placed in Praca da Figueroa. Not very impressive, there are hundreds or even thousands of similar statues. Not a "must see" .

The King Joao I statue dominates the relatively compact Praça da Figueira in central Lisbon. It is an impressive statue but the square lacks the size and impressiveness found in the adjacent Rossio Square.

This is a nice statue of King Joao I in the middle of the square. King Joao ruled the kingdom of Portugal ~1400 and he was significant because he kept Portugal independent of Spain/Kingdom of Castile. He also started the Portuguese push to have colonies...More

The huge statue locates at Praca do Comercio and is a landmark for photo-taking and assembly point as well.

You can't miss it! This is the big statue in the middle of the Praca do Commercio and is very noble and important. You will take a photo, as it is required.

Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site,
Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply
"Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake

earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its
name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in
Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the
