I was drawn into the Capela Das Aparicoes and felt an immediate sense of peace and awe. The Rosary was being said in every language for the 100,000 + pilgrims gathered for the candlelight procession for Our Lady on the eve of the Feast of the Miracle of the Sun. Our Lady was then carried aloft a bed of white roses through Her devotees. It was moving and magnificent to behold so many of her faithful servants gathered in Her honor to follow Her guidance in praying for peace in our world.

The Chapel of the Apparitions was built on the site of the apparition of Our Lady. It was built at the request of Our Lady of the Rosary. Here the faithful light candles in front of the statue of Our Lady of Fatima. Here, the faithful pray the rosary every day in many languages of the world. In the crown of Our Lady of Fatima, decorated with 313 pearls and 2679 precious stones, in 1989 a bullet was placed, which on May 13, 1981 during the attack in Rome pierced the body of John Paul II. The Pope gave it to the Shrine of Fatima.

We were impressed with this this lovely open structure. It is really beautiful.

We visited just before Easter and watched the people lighting very large candles just outside this
Church. The smoke was unbelievable but never seemed to enter this open structure.
A divine intervention perhaps.

This entire area is worth exploring. It wasn’t too hot when we visited in April, but summer would need a hat or umbrella as there is a lot of walking outside without much protection from the sun.

Located in the esplanade in front of the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fátima. Mass is held here everyday. You see people buying candles to light here.

This is the place where Virgin Mary appeared. A statue of Mary with golden crown that holds the bullet extracted from Pope John Paul II after his assassination attempt in 1981.

I had the chance to say the First Reading during our mass. I felt emotional and started to cry. This place made me feel so holy, made me think that we need to pray more to our BVM. Such a beautiful, intimate chapel for anyone to come and pray. It is open in all sides, so more people can still attend the mass. The evening rosary followed by the procession was held here. I share everyone's positive experience. A place to visit when you are in Portugal.

The Chapel of the Apparitions marks the exact location where the three shepherd children reported having received the visits of the Blessed Virgin Mary in 1917. Our Lady instructed the children: "I want you to make a chapel here in my honour". The Rosary is prayed in several languages throughout the day, and there is a nightly evening candlelight procession (if you hope to attend, check the Sanctuary calendar to plan your visit). The chapel is open on one side, and activities take place rain or shine, so pack accordingly (it rained when we were there). You can bring your own candles for the procession, and they are readily available in nearby souvenir shops.

I visited in October 2020 that special place - where Virgin Mary revealed Herself to three shepherd children for the first time. The place was very crowded, in spite of covid19, people were praying in silence. Unfortunately, at the time I was there, there wasn't any mass or prayer. Anyway, it was good to be there, to stop for a while and offer everything to St Mary. Since then She is even more special Person to me.

The Chapel is newly built with the statue of Our Lady positioned in the center. It marks the exact spot where Our Lady appeared to the three shepherd children. From the back you can enter to donate flowers or to start a "kneeling" path around the Statue of Our Lady. Outside of this path there are chairs to stop and say prayers or whatever. A very suggestive place where thousands of people arrive every day from all over the world to show their devotion and respect to Our Lady.

Got there with mass beggining at the apparition chapel. Different sensation for the second visit. Much more religious feeling this time. Better impression of the Basilica as well. Left the place in peace. Prayed for so many people.

I had the privilege to read the First Reading at this amazing chapel. Our BVM is positioned at exactly where she appeared the first time. Pilgrims like me visit this place and attends the mass. I was overwhelmed with emotions as I did the reading. luckily, Father Terry from Ireland was there to support me. This is one holy place people should visit, and to pray to our Lady 🙏
