Our visit to Casal Sta. Maria was fantastic! The estate and vineyard are beautiful, with amazing views of the Colases region in Sintra. Our tour guide João was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the estate, the wines they offer, and the surrounding region. It's well worth the trip for the scenery alone, but Casal Sta. Maria has top-tier wines as well. We particularly loved the Sauvigon Blanc! In the end, we bought 4 bottles and left happy! Thanks to João for such a great time!

Great wine tasting at a really exciting vineyard. The team were really helpful explaining the history of the vineyard and why the wines are so interesting due to the terroir. Definitely a vineyard that is on a roll and will be producing some amazing wines

Fantastic afternoon spent here, beautiful views from the vineyard, gorgeous wine and delicious food. Our host Joao was funny, entertaining and made us feel so welcome. The wine is amazing , would highly recommend.

We had the pleasure to enjoy a wine tasting which we booked last minute on the beautiful grounds at Casal Sta Maria. We got a very interesting tour around the wineries and learned about the history of this place by Joao, followed by a delicious wine tasting with a view over the wineries and the region. The wines were excellent and we bought a couple of bottles to take home with us. We would definitely come back here, especially as a couple or with friends!

We were staying in Cascais and wanted to go to a winery to try some Portuguese wine. WHAT A FANTASTIC experience. The tour was amazing and was led by João, who was absolutely great and very funny. If you’re thinking about going to a winery let this be your first choice! The Rosé and the Vinho Branco (white wine) were amongst my favorites. Overall, a great time and I can’t wait to go back! Bonus, there are cute dogs on premise!

We were a little late for our tour but this was no problem for Helena. She warmly welcomed and relaxed us. She caught us up on what we had missed. She was friendly, passionate and knowledgeable. The vineyard is in a beautiful setting and the story of how it came to be was so interesting.
After the tour was the tasting. The wine was enjoyable but we have to say we were all disappointed with the small measures we were given. We had the premium package and were given less than other people around us. They did have tapas unlike us but my understanding was that the increase in cost did not relate to how much wine you were given.
If the wine measures were closer to what we expected for what we paid, and have had at many other vineyards we would of scored a 5.

We had the pleasure to enjoy a degustation and lunch with friends and brought our five kids. The team at Casal Sta Maria did an excellent job; everybody is very gentle and kuds friendly. Pedro is an excellent host and guide who explained the great history of the estate and their tasty wines. The lunch is pricey for what we’ve got.

What a pleasant and generous tour of Casal Sta.Maria. With our excellent and knowledgeable guide, Joao Ribas, the walk through the vineyards and view to the Atlantic was more than enough to give 5 stars. And then there were the wines. Complex and astounding for such a small family vineyard. Suffice to say I’ve bought quite a lot especially the late harvest (especially unusual for this area). If you want to experience a unique and unspoilt part of Portugal near Lisboa go to Casal Sta. Maria.

Fantastic tour of the vineyards & winery at Casal Sta Maria. Very close to Sintra and even Lisbon for a day trip activity. Our guide was very knowledgable and we loved hearing stories of the founder. Wine tasting at the end was the icing on top of a wonderful tour.

We visited the winery with customers to enjoy the most western winery in Portugal.
Wines were OK but the service of the people were great. If you are looking for a great day at a winery, take a tour here.
