We decided to have a leisurely day on the beach at Cascais after a busy and long day of walking around Sintra. It was mid February, we'd left storms and cold temperatures back in the UK and we were swimming in the sea and lying on the beach in 20°c!
It was just wonderful! The beach is very clean, there are bars and ice cream shops close by and we stayed to watch the beautiful sunset before walking along the beach to the next stop along from Cascais that you can get to from a small underpass just off the beach.
We had such a relaxing day surrounded by lovely scenery.

This is where we spend our time sunbathing. Sunbeds hired from John Davids bar for 15 euro for two including brolly (red umbrellas). Cheapest around here. Best part about this end is that the beach is quite narrow so there aren’t as many people. In fact when the tide gets up there is only room for three rows of beds. Get your bottles of Superbock from Brisa bar though as they are cheaper than John Davids. Be careful of the large stones when you get into the water (which is cold) don't dive in unless you know what you are doing!!!! Pedalos, canoes, paddle board etc can all be hired here for reasonable cost. We went when the local schools were off so this and the beach next door were very busy (especially in the morning with kids clubs) but didn’t find this a problem up this end. Several restaurants/bars on the beach which are typical of this area. Duche bar; Brisa bar; and the Italian Capricosa. I have reviewed all of these elsewhere.

Beautiful little beach! Great for stand-up paddling! Tranquil waters! Go early in the morning before sun bathers arrive.

One of the larger stretches of beach in Cascais, offering sweeping views and a social atmosphere. Restaurants and bars serving the beach.

Too much smokers and salespeople
We need to get more respect in areas we payed to be quiet
25 euros to get bothered is too much.

Have visited here regularly for a number of years and this is still the best beach in Cascais. Sun chairs are a bit more pricey than other beaches (£22 for two) but the prime location and the restaurants are worth it. Both Brisa Bar and Duche Bar are great spots for a true Portugeuse beach lunch

Be aware, sewer networks drop nearby, cleanning services are poor or inexistent, might consider other place for swimming.
Also, sometimes there are gang activities in the beach, you might get robbed and beaten up..
No place to left your car or you have to leave it far away.

I stayed here a full Saturday. Arrived at 0930 and was one of the first persons to hire a sun bed. Only 10 Euro for the day. And I fully enjoyed this beach, the sea, small waves, the fresh water too cool down, my book, the sun, light lunch with beer 20 m away, some sleep and to watch all the people around. A great day.

Few steps from Cascais City Centre and you are in this nice beach(which gets its name from the Palace that overlooks it), which is full of people on a sunny day. Several restaurants and bars near and great walk by the sea from Cascais to Estoril. But like I said, gets real full, so be there early if you want to find a good spot
