We had 3 tee times so a nice number of friends. Course was excellent, greens were true and slick. Some areas a little scruffy but in general it was a great track. Buggies are super expensive and 9 euro for a can of Guinness was well over the top. A solid experience but not a top 100 for me.

On a recent visit we played a number of courses in the area and further north. Oitavos was by far the best overall experience. The attention to detail and fantastic customer service provided by the very professional and friendly staff were a credit to the course.

I cannot understand this course is rated top 100 of the world, even this was a few years back. It is a nice course because of its location, but there is nothing else that stands out to me. We had a nice round, but the greens were horrible, and nobody told us upfront there just had been maintenance. if so, you should both inform visitors upfront and discount the rates. Green were really a lottery. Further maintenance was good, but again, I cannot see any justification of this being one of the best courses of the world. Practice area is ok, nothing special either, pro shop equipped well, no towels in the showers…… Lunch was good but expensive for what we were offered.

Very unprofessional, we went to the pro shop to buy a few things since Portugal offers a tax free on purchases over certain amount we requested it. They gave us 100’s of excuses not to do it. The manager was extremely rude after they gave us the runaround & made us wait for almost 1 hour they told us that they didn’t have the time to do it & that they have to go to government website etc…and that would take lot more time.
Very disappointed on their service and the fact the people from all over the world visit this club, the pro shop should be more professional and equipped to provide the services when asked.

This is a very smart course and we'll maintained but it's a hard slog playing into the wind. Some of the holes were near impossible when we played it. I know it's a links so that is to be expected but it was crazy that day. Staff are very nice but the buggies and the food and drink are way over priced in my opinion. Can't see us going back for this reason

Oitavos cource has ridiculous cancellation policy. We had trip to Portugal and we were able to cancel all other rounds except Oitavos. We had 8 tee times reserved and 7 of them we were able to cancel. So, not yet experience about the course itself.

Dear sir,
First of all, we deeply regret this overall situation. However, you knew our cancelation policy at the time of your reservation. As we are experiencing exceptional moments, the management of Oitavos Dunes has decided, however, that all reservations for this period would be returned in the form of a voucher in order to allow to benefit the service later on. Thank you.

They charge items on the hotel invoice that were not used, then write the invoice items in Portuguese to foreign visitors so it is very difficult to know if the invoice is correct. Lastly if you don’t notice it immediately, they refuse to rectify the mistake when asked to.
If possible, avoid this place and prefer honest places instead.

It's up to €140 to play Oitavos as a non-member. For a special occasion we stumped up a good part of this for a Sunday morning round. Whilst on the course we were constantly hassled by members who think they (and probably do) own the place. This was mainly by playing into the greens while we were putting out. I must add that we were not playing slowly and had a 4 ball in front of us. By the 15th we'd had enough and removed their balls from the green. Two of them went beserk and came at us swinging their clubs like weapons dangerously around us. I was punched to the ground resulting in smashed glasses, bruising and a trip to x-ray. Back at the Clubhouse, the course duty manager pleaded with us not to involve the Police and said they'd prefer to keep it an internal matter and for us to return the next day to meet the manager. We fully expected VIP treatment and a refund of our green fee. All we got was excuses and a reluctant apology. When we said we weren't happy and wished to make a formal compliant, we were told there was nothing we could do as it was 'in the past' and were asked to leave. That was the last time I played golf in Cascais - a great pity.

Crazy Golf on a large scale. Although the course is picturesque it's a terrible course to play golf. Balls landing on the fairway will in many cases run out directly in to waste land where it's almost impossible to find a ball.
Even at half the outlandish price it would still not be worth it.
Lots of other really good golf courses in this area at half the price.
Don't waste your time and money.

Ranked among the most beautiful golf courses in Portugal, but it was ours worst experience there.
The course had been maintained in July which meant that the greens were awful and slow - I estimate the speed as less than 5.5. The fee was expensive. The wind was so strong that my cap flew away from my head. There is always strong wind...
It was waste of our time and money. We even did not finish the round and ended on the hole 13 and went to the hotel for a drink. The design of the course was quite nice but I liked more Royal Obidos and Praia d'el Rey.
