- JOSEPH CANISIUS D21 contributionsPicturecard CascaisThe entire marina area is magical! There is an old fort( now a hotel) with magnificent views over the marina. There are many restaurants serving various cuisines. The little beach cradled among rocks is spectacular and attracts many tourists in summer.Visited February 2024Traveled with familyWritten March 13, 2024
- tk3232Sugar Land, Texas4,269 contributionsVery nice and relax areaThis is one of the beautiful and fashionable areas of the city. Numerous yachts, yacht clubs, expensive restaurants and shops, cleanliness, high class service - all this creates a luxurious atmosphere in this coastal part of the city. It takes 10 minutes to walk here from the center, but it’s worth it, especially if you want to make expensive purchases or just sit in a restaurant or cafe overlooking the sea and expensive yachts. We liked the beautiful promenade, surrounded by palm trees and shops on both sides, and what is important for tourists, there is also a clean public toilet. So, if you have enough time when you exploring the city, it’s worth taking a walk here as well.Visited June 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten August 16, 2024
- SheppardKDublin, Ireland75 contributionsFantastic place. We stayed in the Vila Galé, short walk to the Marina with some lovely restaurants. Our fav was KBueno steak restaurant. But all the restaurants were really good. A 10 minute walk down to the town where there’s a huge variety of restaurants. From the square opposite the beach take the left roadway which brings you to a street full of fantastic restaurants. The street to the right takes you to restaurants but they’re not as nice. Try the dolphin explorer trip from the marina. That was an amazing experience. Saw loads of wild dolphins who came up to the boat to play. Portugal is child friendly and great for families. The town has plenty to explore and do with kids. There’s a floating obstacle course for kids off the beach and you can also go stand up paddle boarding. Loved our 2 weeks there.Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 24, 2024

Busy marina beneath the walls of the citadel with walkways and good aspect of the town. A range of vessels are moored here, and there are bars restaurants and shops
in whichto idle away the time. Perhaps lacks the life of some marinas in the Algarve but worth a visit if you are i the town.

Once a quiet fishing village, Cascais now is an attractive beach town. Located only a 40-minute train ride from Lisbon, Cascais has a quaint feeling with a palace, fortress and attractive cobblestone streets. Enjoy the architecture and art along with quiet time in a café or restaurant or shopping.

Cascais is known as the Portuguese Riviera and is a popular resort town. Beautiful beach and marina, the town is shown in blue and white tiles.

The price charged was horrendous. Our vessel is 15.1m in length, we were offered as the only option, an 18m pontoon. Once moored we disembarked and on walking up to the restaurants noticed that there were dozens of empty berths available, any of which would have accommodated our boat, instead of which we were fleeced for an 18m berth. Needless to say we will not be visiting or recommending this marina.

What ever you do dont forget to walk up to the Marina one night for dinner . You have you choice of at least 12 places with great food and cocktails . Some nights they have fire works and always fresh sea air .

Very typical and historical feel, with stunning views, local fisherman early morning, colours in the blue skies of a green clean sea. A superb place to sit and relax, and gain some peace and quiet, IF out of season and avoid weekends.

Cascais Marina has beautiful views of the boats and the ocean. It's well kept and very clean. I visited in winter so not all the cafes, bars and restaurants where open but there where still quite a few which gets quite busy with a mixed crowed of couples and families at the weekend.
Great for a scenic walk, a coffee in the sun or some delicious food at one of the great range of restaurants offering everything from tapas, Italian, Portuguese, fresh fish, & Brazilian food. There is a shop where you can hire bikes, go carts, electric cars or even book boat and helicopter trips.
The marina is tranquil and differs a lot from many I have visited I'm Europe with a laid back but yet up market feel. There's lots of amazing boats and classic cars around the marina which is set back from some old original ruins. Keeping in mind I visited in December the weather was still beautiful and the marina has some hidden sun traps.
I nearly forgot dogs are allowed 🐶 with many of the cafes, bars and restaurants catering for them outside.
Cascais Marina is one not to be missed.

Marina Cascais is the largest marina in the Portuguese Riviera and the third largest marina in Portugal. Its really good for the organization of all kinds of events, the accessibility is excellent. The beautiful marina along the old citadel is surrounded by a beautiful promenade. A very nice place.

We stayed in Cascais in December, and I am told the summer in Cascais is extremely busy so we feel blessed to have seen the lovely Marina on a quiet day in the sunshine. Loved to see all the fishing nets piled up with the name of the hotel marked on the wall to show where the fresh fish would be taken to.
