We discovered this large park and beautiful grounds when we were walking from Cascais to the Boca de Inferno (Mouth of Hell). It was about halfway, so was only an 8-10 min walk from the marina. Entry is free and you can easily spend a bit of time here. There is a duck pond, a playground, a petting zoo and the 19th century house of Count Castro Guimaraes, which I particularly liked for its quirky combination of turrets, blue and white azulejos tiles, fountains and Arabic styled cloistered courtyard. It is now a museum but you can walk around the house and through the courtyard for free. There’s plenty of space for kids to run around and we just enjoyed strolling randomly along the paths. Gravel paths meander through well laid out, lush plantings that range from ornamental gardens, beds of flowers to more shaded groves with stretches of mature trees.…

Park is next to very beautiful castle.However, the park needs a person responsible for taking care about green spaces all of them are run-down.

This park is amazing, wooded areas as well as children’s area. Lots of wonderful birds, and baby chicks. The sounds of the birds while walking make you think you are in a jungle or zoo. Wonderful

We came upon this park whilst walking to boca inferno. What a gem, chickens turtles peacocks strutting around , nice childrens play area, walkways in shade and a nice cafe to while away the time. Also contains a small museum with attractive tiling outside

The Marechal Carmona Park is a lovely place for a stroll and is minutes away from the town centre, marina and old fort. It has a pond, playground and a variety of birds roaming around (peacocks, chickens and ducks), all of which makes it a really nice spot for families.
