Our granddaughters (one and a half, and five and a half) absolutely loved exploring this park of model Portuguese buildings. As older adults we did too! The small scale models of buildings from across Portugal contain many interactive opportunities for visitors to explore and learn from. The children love going into the small houses and exploring them. The houses, which tend to get smaller towards the end of the site, eventually bring visitors to a playpark, where the only missing thing is a coffee shop for adults while the children play. Many of the buildings unashamedly celebrate the endeavours of Portuguese mariners, explorers and the colonial period, which was refreshing. A great day out for the family.

The park is quite nice to spend time with family and children. You can spend 2 hours there and little if you are reading the information and taking some cultural benefit.. I went with two children of 8 and 10 years old and as they already have more notion of the history of Portugal, it turned out to be more profitable in these ages..for the youngest, I think that I end up having little interest. As an adult, I liked, too, to remember some things from the history of Portugal. Certain areas could have better maintenance and presentation but it is already known that the funds are few to maintain the maintenance of these spaces. Still, I think it's worth it, but taking into account the age of the kids.

Very well developed and preserved place. The children have space to run and miniature houses to develop creativity in play and explore a little of Portugal. The ticket is a bit expensive but it is worth it as there is no specific time to spend there and visiting everything still takes some time.

It is a park with houses that at the entrance represent some countries that had connection to Portugal (era of discoveries). In each of the houses has a bit of the culture and fauna and flora of each country. It was supposed at the entrance to give a passport to the children to stamp them in each home alluding to a country, but they informed that only about 3 machines are working so it was not worth giving the passport. In addition, many mechanisms are faulty or damaged. Then there are miniatures of the traditional houses of each region of Portugal and some monuments, made at scale and with all the details. Some houses and monuments have some wear and need maintenance. It was the case of the lakes that were in repair and painting. It is a very touring visit for both children and graduates. There is an application in which reading the QR code at home little we know what we are seeing.

Portugal dos Pequenitos is a delightful place that perfectly combines fun, education, and cultural appreciation. It’s a must-visit attraction in Coimbra, whether you're with children, friends, or exploring on your own. The miniature replicas of Portugal's iconic landmarks and traditional houses are stunningly detailed and give visitors a unique insight into the country’s architectural heritage. Walking through the small-scale villages and monuments is both enchanting and informative. For families, it’s a paradise – kids can freely explore and engage, while adults can appreciate the craftsmanship and historical context. The exhibits dedicated to the former Portuguese colonies add a fascinating layer, showcasing the cultural connections and influences. The park is well-maintained, with clean facilities and friendly staff who are always ready to assist. There’s plenty of shade and seating, making it comfortable even on a sunny day. It’s an ideal outing for a few hours, with so much to see and learn. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Coimbra – this charming park is a true gem! Only con is the price...

Perfect for going with kids. Entertaining and educational. My 8-year-old had a great time walking into every little house. One catch: they have an app where you pass a QR in each house, but many of them are deleted. Impressive medieval area, fascinated me.

Next to the Mondego but across town, is this curious little theme park. We have two distinct parts, one of houses and monuments Portuguese style to size children and another of pavilions of the former Portuguese colonies where children can stamp the passports they give to the entrance and where you see some history and traditions of those sites. There are shops, to eat something and parks for children to entertain. It is a cultural and entertaining place for the little ones. I found the price quite acceptable.

We traveled with our three adult children (in their 20's). I walked them by the Portugal dos Pequenitos to tell them the history of the place, and my son wanted to go in so we did. These were the most expensive tickets for all things we did in Portugal - cost nearly 80 euro for 5 of us. Many of the buildings can be entered and they have some educational information about other places around the world - and for that reason alone, it was worth the price of admission. Not sorry we stopped by.

It is difficult to describe this place ,inside the entrance there are buildings representing portuguese colonies with some interesting facts beyond that there are structures from various regions of Portugal made up of features from buildings from those areas ,some of the features are quite small the structures are not full sized but can be accessed by adults. Beyond the above there are small scale i.e children sized models of mainly rural buildings from different regions beyond that there is a childrens play area. We could not understand why there was no cafe in the children centered area .

Portugal dos Pequenitos is as I remember. An old gem. But I more concerned about some of these comments over here. They are absolutely idiotic.
Some say this theme park is racist… it’s hilarious… this park was found during Estado Novo regime.. so you can expect (unfortunately) some racism on statues and other stuff around.. and you know what? It’s a freaking reminder to not to be racist… to not be like that again…
You are aware now: you will encounter some stuff racist.

Other thing to some erudite folks around here:
At least you know how was the foundation of Portugal? Do you think it was with hugs and kisses? No my friend, it was a bloody mess. They had to kill a lot of “mouros” (North African people)… - you know who you are (the laugh buy from France).

And if you expect to know more about Portugal, just google it please.. everyone complaining about the lack of digital stuff, but don’t google info…

Well just go with your kids and see the houses and monuments and enjoy the 2 hours stay. Then, grab a freaking car and visit the real ones… that’s a good trip.

I'm not sure how this "park" even reached the top 20 to do list in Coimbra, but it's a complete scam. The atractions are in decay, dirty, fountains in desperate need of new water. The only lesson that I could teach my daughter is about capitalism: you can charge full price for a ticket and have 30% or less of the atractions open.

The tour is of a modest number of concrete buildings. The majority have QR codes to scan for information with their app - but that app “wasn’t available in our region” (US) so there was little information.

In total we spent only 20 minutes in the park and found it to be one of the more disappointing experiences in Portugal. At 14.95/ per ticket wasn’t worth the stop.

The first part of the exhibition was very interesting, informative and educational.
Unfortunately, some stamps for passport and other screens were broken.
The second part with the small houses I found a bit “boring” or at least imagined it differently. But maybe also because we were there at the end of October.

Portugal dos Pequenitos is a place out of our time. It was built around 1940 when the dictator Salazar organized the famous "Portuguese World" exhibition in Lisbon to rebuilt the idea of Portuguese colonialism. At that time, the regime propaganda spread the ideology that there was only a Portugal from "Minho to Timor," and the colonial territories became Portuguese provinces. This park for children was meant to teach these ideas. Therefore, one can observe miniatures of the main Portuguese monuments -- Belem Tower, Jeronimos, Batalha, Univerity of Coimbra, etc. -- along with showcase pavilions of all Portuguese colonies from Angola to East Timor. Despite the chance of these pavillions to places for independent Portuguese speaking countries, the old colonial odor is still around. Moreover, the area has not any good restaurant or primary amenities, trying to sell what is old and odd. My kids didn't enjoy it after taking some pictures in miniature houses from Alentejo. We won't return.

This place is absolutely hilarious, it was built during the fascist regime and you can clearly tell, it’s extremely neglected, maintenance is an absolute disgrace, they probably haven’t done any since the fascist regime 😂 the people who give this place a good review have probably never traveled anywhere. Either way, it’s great for having a laugh, if you are cultured and know your history about fascism, this is an absolute gem, it’s like traveling back in time, everything is absolutely nationalistic and racist as anything during the fascist regime was, there is a statue of the founder of Portugal trampling Arab people with a text which reads “children, remember this figure and this ideology” 😂 it also has dolls with a beard which were used for depicting famous Portuguese people from history 😂

This is a great place to take kids - especially Portuguese kids. Its a bit like an historic theme park without any of the thrills. There has been a lot of effort in setting it up and the miniature buildings are remarkable in their detail and the ability to wander around inside them. However there is a minimal of interest inside each place except for a few dated artefacts or an outdated video. The entry fee was a shock, given that you can buy lunch for about half the price of an adult entry. If you have kids and they want to learn about the Portuguese version of world discoveries, then its a great way to spend a few hours. Otherwise, I can't really recommend it.

Very expensive tickets, €16.00 per person, badly maintained, ita a Little Portuguese want to be Epcot centre, but falls short. The lakes/fountains don't work everything needs tlc and is not getting it...a fraud for the price; €5.00 would be more adequate
