Travelling is about getting to know other cultures. Visiting the local market is a good way to get some insight into people's every day life. Fresh fruit always available here :)

If you can be entertained by a small produce market, by all means go. I was done in 1 minute. But I'm not entertained by produce.

This is a lovely market that gets quite busy! I enjoyed strolling through and checking out what was available! Lots of fresh fruits and veggies, fish & meat, flowers, cheese and breads! Definitely make a stop here!

The usual variety of fruit and vegetables. Always a feast for the eyes. The best features of this market are the popularity of the local cheeses and the small pineapples.

I discovered fruit I'd never eaten before! One of the fruit sellers was very helpful, and though he didn't speak much English and I don't speak Portugese, was able to communicate by pressing fruit samples in to my hand and repeating the name for them....More

The market is open from Monday to Saturday. Closed on Sundays. Mornings are the busiest and with the freshest products.
