Your car climbs and curves for a short while and suddenly this truly stunning view breaks forth ahead of you. We just stood there taking it all in. A truly beautiful sight worth experiencing. There is a foot path that leads you closer to the...More

Views are amazing at pretty much anywhere along this route! The clearer the day the better. Walk is tough(ish) though, i'm quite fit and found it a little difficult, but did manage to make it all the way! There are tours (around €30) but we...More

This is a beatiful place especially when seen from above. A small village with two coffee shops and a church. A real nice place to have a picknick. There many well organised picknick places on the way there.

No trip to Sao Miguel would be complete without a visit here. It's simply beautiful. We were fortunate to have a sunny clear day, so the views are stunning. There are plenty of trails around the area for hiking/walking, of varying levels. We traveled with...More

The various vistas from top to bottom are incredible and you should probably stop at each view point to enjoy the beauty of this area. The senses were definitely challenged with so much beauty to be seen! Flowers, mountain peaks, water and beautiful horizons, incredible.

Not often does a view cause a gasp by everyone around you, the viewing point is fine but for the best views climb to the roof of the abandoned hotel (which is worth a look around anyway)

A site you must see... it's a long ride up the mountain but many beautiful points where you can stop to look out. When you get to the top, someone was selling ice cream which was a nice treat for the children to snack on...More

We rented a car and drove there on our own. That way we were able to go at our own speed and stop and hike. It's an easy drive as long as you are comfortable driving on narrow roads!

It is a very safe place to drive and hike around. The weather can change pretty quickly though, especially mist, with good to zero visibility in seconds. Just be smart and have a phone or let people know where you are going... More
