    Quaint and worth the stop.
Cute place and lovely area to take a walk. Def worth a stop. Parking can be hard to find. They have a gift shop and small cafe. But it's just a quaint place to take a walk around. Theres a waterfall, flowers and pump house etc. Also a building thats tells you the history.

    Perfection
If you could imagine a perfectly beautiful landscape and bring it to life, this would be it. The waterfalls, the stone structures, the paths, the canyon, the trees - it is an amazing sight. It is not just a viewpoint, however - you can spend a couple of hours here walking the trails if you like.

Another beautiful and free natural park in Sao Miguel
This place was such a surprise! There are so many beautiful natural places to visit in Sao Miguel, and this is one of them. It's free to enter and there is a cafe and gift shop on site. We didn't visit the entire park, but strolled by the lovely waterfalls and the trail beyond, then to the other side, past the gift shop. There is a picnic area there. I was amazed with the beauty of Sao Miguel, let alone how well-maintained their free public areas are. Allow at least 30 minutes to an hour - you can spend half day, especially if you bring a picnic lunch like we did.

I only stayed in the area around the waterfalls near the parking area which is very beautiful.
The circular trail takes around 2 hours and is very steep in some places so I didn't go.
I had seen that there was a cafe on site so I didn't bring any lunch with me but when I arrived around 1 pm they had no food at all, only a few cakes and ice cream , chocolate bars and bags of crisps! I stayed for a few hours waiting for my bus to return and later in the afternoon I saw a burger being served to a customer!
I give 3 * because of the cafe , the National Park should probably be 5*

This is a wonderful park with waterfalls and pretty plants. Take your time and admire the beautiful surroundings. Easy access down to the water falls in natural settings. Just a refreshing place to have a break from the busy day trip.

It is a good place for you to take a break and relax with your family. It is good for all ages, kids, and elderly. They have waterfalls, watermills, flowers, plants, little trails, ponds, picnic areas and coffee shops. It is beautiful in the middle of a valley surrounded by gorgeous hills.

Great park, located inside a green valley full of nature. Unfortunately, when my girlfriend and I arrived, the path was closed for work.
Nevertheless, it is a beautiful place to spend a couple of hours.

We combined this park with a trip to the tea plantation. The waterfall near the road looked very appealing, dream-like. So we took a trail to the top of the waterfall to check it out closer. This was a bit funny, since it's just a big pipe at the edge of the forest splurging water down. There is no visible river feeding the waterfall! So we went to track the pipe, which basically meant following the trail to the right of the waterfall.

After 4-5 minutes we went around a corner and were treated to something really special. There we saw another waterfall, with no tourists around, and a heavenly pond in front of it to swim in, all for ourselves. It was great, I won't forget this moment. I swam around in the pond and stood below the falling water. A picture of this moment is included in this review. It's actually the water from this waterfall that feeds the one near the road, the one everyone takes pictures of!

In short: follow the trail to the right of the (faux) waterfall for a few minutes to discover a magical place with a genuine waterfall where you can swim.

Entry is free however there is not much to see apart from two little waterfalls and a little mill-like something... It might be nicer when flowers in bloom. Unfortunately they weren't during our visit in May.
It worth a quick stop if you are in the neighbourhood otherwise give it a skip as there are so many nicer places on the island worth a visit.

Wow, this place is exquisite. Come in the morning when the day is still new, the birds are singing, and life is good. There are no crowds here. They must all be on the tour buses visiting the closest places to the port.

There are two nice areas to visit, one on either side of the road. Enjoy both. If you're lucky, you'll see a small group of rapellers jumping off one of the waterfalls or practicing their moves. The history of the area is preserved with the mill and grist stones on the parking lot side. There's an upper trail wading type pool that I guess kids could go into. I didn't see any signs saying that you couldn't. When finished, we enjoyed a couple of drinks at the small cafe there. We had the place to ourselves.

This is the type of place that embodies the essence and subtle beauty of Sao Miguel. Other areas include the many lookouts and village parks on the north and east sides of the island. Enjoy!
