This is a substantial walk from town, but with an exhilarating view. The professional whale spotters work here and are not accessible to casual visitors. They direct whale-watching boats to whales over incredible distances from here.More

We were hoping for a great viewpoint and to talk with the vigia but the the man did not pay us attention and did no enjoy our company at all. In the end it was a 1 hour walking for very little experience.More

Just past Lajes on the coast , Vigia Da Queimada is definately worth a visit , the company that runs it Espaço Tallassa was able to preserve this piece of whalling heritage and now use it for spotting whales for there whale whaching tours ....More

the whale watching experience was very professionally set-up. Especially the extensive briefing up front and the quality of the guide made it absolutely worth while. It makes you realize that the people really care about the environment and the future of the whales.
