Went 2 adults and 3 teenagers - paid EUR 6 in total 😳
You get to take a tour on your own in the exhibition and outside. Took around 20-30 min.
Very nice, tidy and well-made. Kind and informative personnel.

always surprised by the staff at the reception being sleepy and inattentive to visitors, they should be there to greet you instead of letting you wander at random...of course they are not needed since the museum is self explanatory in all its corners and always a lovely place to visit although I always feel like intruding and trespassing into an abandoned realm..

We boxed the compass trying to find this place, though it was worth our time. The museum, in a former Carmelite convent, includes several buildings. Highlights include the 800+-yr old dragon tree and the lovely views and interesting explanations of the unique Pico wine growing system. The history of wine-growing, and processes used are well-explained, and since it is self-guided, you set your own pace. The grounds are pretty. There is a small shop, though nothing aggressive. I have photos, though I don't see how to post them today.

Learned a lot about the wine culture of Pico. The grounds are really pretty and offer some great spots for photos. Staff were also helpful and friendly.

Beautiful location FULL of information. The self guided tour is great, but the real highlight is the old walled vineyards and walking the grounds. For anyone interested in wine, looking at the vineyards and the very old own rooted vines is a must.

We learned alot about the vineyards and how pico island got into making wine, very interesting, there is also a 800 year old dragon tree on the property.
I only rated this museum a 3 because it was self directed and each couple only received one booklet of information to read, the entrance fee was very minimal

If you know nothing about the wine industry and understand Portuguese then this is worth a visit as 90% of the explanations were only in Portuguese. Otherwise it's debatable. Having said that, the setting, terrain and explanation about the "corrals" was interesting.

Good overview of how wine making started in Pico and it’s history. Exhibits are simple but well made and well maintained. Posters in Portuguese are fully translated into English. Also a general exhibit on wine in our culture through the ages, understanding the different grape varieties and testing your sense of smell. Spent about 90 minutes here
