This is a small local market with fresh fruits and veggies. Early in the mornings, there MAY also be fresh fish. There are a few local craft items and one cork stand but the hours for those stalls are very erratic. I have been on a resident visa here for 3 years and I have many times felt that there are two prices for everything. One price if you are a tourist and another price if you are local. I still stop in when I am in the area for fresh fruit & veg. The building is worth a walk-through.

It's a small daily market, Sat market is much larger. There are many good fruits and veggies to be had. Sat market has many more items. We enjoy the friendly people and great prices on their items. If your in the area you should stop by.

Visit this market. It is not a place to come to for a special reason.
The market is not that authentic anymore. It is to focused on tourists. There are more markets in the neighborhood that are more authentic and give you an insight into the Portugese markets.

Stopped to have a drink. Looked in shop as into crafts. Was then spoilt as after leaving there my money had been stolen

Although the market is a small one, it is a very a nice and attractive place to wander around while looking at the merchandise and the trading.

The market in Silves is rather small and not as impressive as the one in Olhao. Unfortunately when we got there all the fish had been sold and the only thing left was vegetables and fruit. Nonetheless we marvelled at the size of locally grown peaches and tomatoes. We hardly ever see anything as impressive at home, but Portugal has the weather and heat...we don't.

Wandered into the farmers market on the Saturday we visited Silves. It was fig season and the lady at the stall was very friendly and spoke very good English. We bought about 8 purple figs and she insisted on us trying the green variety too. Paid less than 2 euro for the purple ones and she gave us two green ones free. Turns out the green ones were sweeter!

This is a market selling fresh produce, it all looks to be of good quality. just to walk through it is well worth a visit.

small clean dry market shows mostly fruits theyre closed on sunday but you can see inside through the locked gate

Looked in on the Mercado Municipal de Silves which is situated on the river near the bridge. Not much going on in the afternoon as most trade, like fish, is in the early morning.
