The best family holiday experience we have ever had. The boat trip alone was good fun and our girls, 12 and 8 loved riding the waves. My husband and I thought at one point we wouldn’t get to see dolphins and then suddenly we were surrounded by a large pod of Bottlenose dolphins. There was about 25 in the pod. They were playing and splashing around the boat for a good 30 minutes. The marine biologist on board said they are ‘Human watching’ which is not that comment with this type of dolphin (they normally keep their distance a bit more). What we loved was that the marine biologist on board was as excited and engaged as we were. It was as if it was her first time seeing dolphins. To top the trip off we got to see Fin Whales, the second largest whale on the planet. At this point the marine biologist was almost screaming with excitement. It was her first whales of the season. At that point we knew this was a once in a lifetime experience.
The skipper and marine biologist were brilliant. They were both very knowledgeable and really made the whole experience amazing.
If we come back to the Algarve we will be doing this again.

We enjoied the speed boat trip a lot! We've seen some common dolphins playing around our boat. The guide and the captain were also very nice!
Unfortunately we had a short trip (only around 1,2 hours, but paied the whole price for the 1,5 hours) because of a woman who was feeling anxious while the boat ride. They could have handled it different and maybe paid us money back or drive out again without the woman. We were a little bit upset because of this.
But they told us this was the first time this happened, so don't worry.

The Cape Cruiser Team gave a very informative introduction to the sea animals which potentially could get sighted during the trip. On that day we did the tour the dolphins were showing up pretty late, but they came close to the boat and we had approximately twenty animals around us. It was very spectacular und the kids loved it. It is a highly recommended tour and the captain of the boat told us that it is just happens once on all the trips he did that no dolphins were showing up. So for us tourest this means a high probability to see these wonderful creatures.

I wish I could be more positive about our trip because the people who run it are lovely and we saw many interesting birdies and lots of dolphins. But it was cramped and uncomfortable, which is ok, I suppose, but there was a German family - very tall father, mother and 2 young children, who rather spoilt the trip for me. The children were terrified of the bumpy ride (and the sea was the calmest I have ever known), so we had to make stops to reassure them. Their father was so tall that, even standing, I couldn’t see over his head. It was suggested that they all move to the back so the children were less exposed. They moved back one seat. And then the children were sick! So I have some suggestion for the boat trip.
1. Especially during Sagres Birdwatching week, do not allow young children. On the boat. They can be frightened and bored.
2. Politely request that very tall people sit at the back so as not to restrict the view of others. Perhaps this could also apply to those with gigantic, priapic zoom lenses!!
3. Apart from the boat being almost too cramped to use binoculars, I saw very little because all the action seemed to be on the other side of the boat. Perhaps the skipper could orientate the boat so each side got its turn to see the birds.
I did mention this to the lady on the desk who responded very well, so thank you! Please see it as positive feedback for the future. It is a worthwhile trip.

We booked online and fully paid for the dolphin watching 3 days before our trip. When we arrived, we were told that our booking wasn’t valid and they didn’t have room for us. The. To make things worse we were mid-sold a different trip (which they made us pay extra for). We were told it was basically the same trip but with the caves also. We then spent only 10mins trying to dolphin watch (what we originally paid for) and 2.5hrs travelling over very turbulent seas. We arrived at the caves and the swell made the trip really dangerous and it felt unsafe. We then spent and hour on the return trip when the pilot almost got fined by the coast guard for they’re driving and the driver also ran over a seagul. Terrible experience, please do t waste your time or

"Dear customer, thank you very much for your comment.
As explained at reception, we had a problem with our online reservation system and for 3 days we had no notifications from them due to a virus, which resulted in your reservation being changed. We try to do everything to make sure you have a great experience (and our best seller was sold to you) and we regret that you were the only customers of a group of 12 people who were dissatisfied.
In relation to dolphin watching, sometimes it is not always as we wish, as they are wild animals and do not always like or want the presence of boats, and when this happens we do not spend much time in observation, because for us the welfare is extremely important. being of the animals. Our trips last one and a half hours and not two and a half hours as you mention, for your information the maximum time allowed by law for dolphin watching is 30 minutes.
Dear customer, as you can see there was some swell, and there were also many boats doing the same activity in the sea, because if it wasn't safe we or our colleagues would do the activity.
Regarding the maritime police, we inform you that your words are not true! What really happened was a vessel that was warning that a regatta would take place within a maritime perimeter of 20 nautical miles and that the normal route could not be traced for 4 hours.
Once again the sea conditions were met, as there would be a competition, if not, it would be canceled by the authorities.
Regarding the seagull being run over, dear customer, you are absolutely right, sometimes accidents happen and this time it happened with great pity for us.

Very nice people, really trying to give you the best experience they can bearing in mind that nature does what is does. Daniela, thank you very much for your great effort to make this dolfin tour a memorable one for us! We saw a big family of common dolfins who wanted to play with us far far away from the shore. So take your sweater! I really can recommend this tour! We as a dutch family even had the pleasure of having a dutch sea specialist with a master degree to guide us!

We did the 1.5hr dolphin tour with children ranging from 4 to adults in their 70s & we all loved it.
We had to go quite a long way to find the dolphins & patience was needed but the company didn’t want to return to port with disappointed customers so we kept searching. We found a lovely group of common dolphins & enjoyed 15 minutes or so with them before whizzing back to port. Glass still water & great weather. The guide was very knowledgeable & I felt the company were very respectful of the dolphins & didn’t chase them.

Thank you so much to Paulo and Bianca for a truly amazing experience! You sure know how to handle a boat Paulo. And Bianca you were so lovely, helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. We felt so safe, along the hidden beaches, in and out of the caves, and around Cabo de Sao Vicente (the most south/western point of Europe)!! As if that wasn’t bonus enough, we happened upon a pod of bottlenose dolphins (I only know this because Bianca, a marine biologist, told us). We highly recommend your tours and especially as you have so much respect for the environment you work on. Excellent value for money too J & T

Easy to book, friendly staff, well-organised and the captain/biologists were knowledgeable and passionate. We went with our two kids (7&5) who loved the whole experience. We saw a pod of around 40 common dolphins. Would definitely recommend.

Hi! I just wanted to ask that if we are planning our stay in Portugal from 19th May to 26th what are our chances to see orcas? As I saw there is a bigger chanse in summer, this is why I ask.
Written March 11, 2024
Hi Cinthia! Yes, the best time to see them is usually in the summer, but it varies with the years. We've had sightings in May, other years in June or August, etc.
The orcas travel after the tuna, and they stay in the area for a couple of days. If we find them in that time, the chances are ok. Otherwise, they are very rare.
We can never be sure of what we'll find when we go out to the sea, it's always an adventure!

Bonjour

Hi we think about to do the tour with you, but is it a chance to see the dolphins right now in May?
Written May 10, 2018
Hello,
Yes, it`s possible to see Dolphins in here all the year aroud.
Our sucess rate in Abril was 85.7%.
However, he can not garantee the dolphins sightings because they are wild animals.
We would like to share that experience with you, so if you decide to make a booking pelase use our web site or email.

I am overweight and have a bad knee. Will I be able to get on and off the boat safely?
Written April 1, 2018
Hello , Shelley
We appreciate your contact and we inform that our boat is not advisable for who has problems in the knees, bones, recent surgeries or overweight.
The boat has jockey-type seats (like riding a horse) so you need to push your knees as you navigate as the space between the seats becomes tight.
On the coast of Sagres, the sea is always agitated by what is felt the bumping in the waves.
So we recommend that you contact a company in Lagos that has a large shaded catamaran vessel. Or in Portimão also has the Ophelia vessel.
We have the Pescamar boat (in fiberglass) which has more convenience but we only used it for coastal tours - it is a slower boat so we can not do dolphin watching.
Coastal walks: either towards Cape S. Vicente or South Coast take at least 2h.
For any activity we´ll need at least 4 persons to go out.
I hope you have answered your questions and we are available for whatever you need.
Kind regards,
Carla Costa

Hi,
I'll be staying in Faro and wanted to know how long it would take and cost for me to get to you?
Thank you
Written March 6, 2018
It is about 100 Kms from Sagres to Faro and there are two possible routes . One on the payed road which would take about 45ms to 1 hour and the other is on the 125 which would take about .1 . 5 hours.
I am not sure of the price of the trips this year but I am sure they will be able to tell you themselves.
