Overview
More
Set in a valley in the inner Algarve, between Portimao and Monchique, Morgado Golf course is a challenge both for those taking their first steps in golf as for the more experienced player, who would like to test his technique. The scorecard shows a PAR 73, but the course path length is attenuated by the generous width of fairways. However, less accurate strokes may be penalized by the action of one of several bunkers spread across the field. We can say that the Morgado Golf Course is a course with the characteristics of a links - with flat fairways and Scottish inspiration bunkers - but instead of being close to the shore as traditional links, it is inserted into an area of parkland. Surrounded by the region traditional tree species, the player who visits Morgado Golf contacts with a different Algarve, calm and serene, providing the perfect setting for a memorable round.

We played both courses. The first nine hole are just average and not extraordinary. Fun starts with the back holes. Really beautiful layout and tempting holes. Overall we liked the Alamos course more. The scenery is much more beautiful. Unfortunately both golf courses are too...More

Great course for all handicaps, big greens, a lot of them are raised with run offs.. When driving you will find many well placed bunkers. All in all, a great course for a society to play golf abroad.

Played the course twice last week. First time, course was not in the best condition, however 4 days later, condition had improved. No buggies available on our first visit, therefore recommend booking in advance. With 2 Courses on this complex would have expected more buggies....More

Stayed 4 nights. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere with little to do. Played both courses which could be good if there were any green staff. The first had greens so long that a put of over6' was better played with a wedge....More

Played the Alamos course. Not bad but in my opinion it is not worth going back. The place itself is sad. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere, surrounded only by many apartment blocs started building and then blocked. It gives a feeling of...More

Played Morgado a number of times. Great course, great course staff. Say exactly the same about the clubhouse, and the staff again in there have always been polite and helpful.

My group of 18 players were assured that all works had been completed and the course would be in good condition. <See my enquiry one week ago> Some greens were still being worked on and most were in poor condition. The green aprons on many...More
