We went at low tide. We parked at the lower gravel parking lot and went down the hill and then turned right. The exploring was absolutely incredible. Caves and secret passages around every corner. Would be amazing with younger kids. We loved it !!!! Check out the pictures

We ended up at this beach when looking for praia do Vau. The beach has only one small vendor stand and we were surprised to know that after 14:00 we could rent a set of chairs (2 nice chairs and a big umbrella) for only €2! on a weekday in August. Cheapest beach comparing to the others that we’d pay usually €15 in the am and €10 in the afternoons. The beach was clean, the water slightly cold for most people’s taste I could tell but it’s aug 2019 and we haven’t had the Mediterranean sending us warm waters so it was cold everywhere. The bathroom didn’t have toilet paper or hand soap and it’s not clean. But at least they had one. There were parking spaces the both days that we went and it’s only a little walk (1 minute, no stairs) to get there from the parking lot. We’d definitely go back if it became too difficult to find parking space to try to explore other beaches. I recommend for couples, family, well, everyone except surfers (not good waves).
